[rquoter]But Artest's defense is only a third of the story of Houston's defensive package. Chuck Hayes and Shane "MVP of the New York Times Sunday Magazine" Battier are also big, strong, smart, and wholly committed at that end of the floor. The way they played last night, any one of the three would be most teams' best defender. When they all play together, Portland's regular offense (spread the floor with shooters, let Roy create for himself or others) simply does not exist. Where Roy usually finds open seams and opener shooters, instead there are about six people wrestling with each other all over the floor, and the only easy shots come from first turning tail and running a yard or two away from the big bad Rockets.[/rquoter] That's what I'm talking about. Ron, Shane, and Chuck -- Houston's real Big Three.
Yup. Its there in the foreword, and its the first thing Abbott writes ("I lost a bet") Good article, but I feel a little robbed. Wasn't this supposed to be a 500-word article extolling our virtues? All he did was say we play defense and Artest goes solo every once in a while. On the other hand, he talked about Brandon Roy's greatness, Portland's efficiency and ability to pick apart defenses and Aldridge's outside shot. LOL. Oh well, at least he's definitely a blazer fan
True...but I do like that he ended it by saying that Houston is a team that he wouldnt like to face in the playoffs.
