It was great analysis. I feel that trios that have 2,3 and 5 work better than trios that have 2,4 and 5.
This is an interesting point. I've been thinking about the great NBA trios and the positions they occupy. All else being equal, I think it is most advantageous to have your big 3 occupy the 1, 2 and 5 spots. Here's my reasoning -- dominant 5 >> dominant 4. Oftentimes, the 4 is played man up by another 4, and the dominant 5 can provide weakside help. hakeem >>> Barkley and malone. with today's rules, having dominant PG and SG play is such an advantage. You cant touch perimeter players. finally, it seems that it's fairly easy to get a decent servicable 3 and 4 at reasonable cost, particularly ones that play good defense. Having dominant play at the 1 and 2 tend to increase team synergy.
Ron was honest about his feelings and that's what I like about him even though I don't agree with his way of thinking at times. Nothing wrong about being ghetto, but I do feel he is looking out for himself with a big contract whether it's with the Rockets or not. As long as he is willing to play within the team concept, put up a 100% effort and not get in any trouble I'm ok with his desire to get payed.I hope that won't distract him from the team goal. As long as you respect him and work hard,he will do the same for you in my opinion. We have a very unselfish team, that will make things easier for him. They all want to win.
Giraffes were created when Ron Artest uppercutted a horse. Ron Artest has already been to Mars; that's why there are no signs of life there. Ron Artest's calendar goes straight from March 31st to April 2nd; no one fools Ron Artest.
Ron Artest's new signature move: Watch out Boozer and all, who will play against Artest. Rockets = Scariest Team of the NBA
When Ron Artest walks into a Toyota Center, he doesn't turn the lights on. He turns the darkness off.
Dang! They left out the $$ Million Dollars $$ They should put a bunch of cash in-between Bobby and Donte
"i don't care if i play behind Hayes!" LMAO...that was THE BEST comment by far in the interview and sort of a diss to hayes. but i must say, that made me crack up pretty hard. willing to play behind hayes = true commitment to the team.

interestingly, T-Mac can play the 2 or 3 and arguably the 1, or at least point forward. Artest can play either forward position and even shooting guard. so they arguably have two bigs, and the Rockets still come out ahead. again, comparing TRIOS. for those that say that Artest is not a 4 and can't play as one; i say that he can do at least as well as Chuck (the Rockets' best defensive 4 last year), although with a bit worse rebounding, but way better offense. or put in the most simplistic way, the Rockets have a top 5 player at each respective position for their big 3. none of the other teams have even 2 except for Boston with KG and Pierce, and maybe Denver with Iverson and Melo, but no big third player.
