http://www.nba.com/rockets/news/film-session-kevin-martin I know many people here want to see K-Mart shipped out for one reason or another, but I really like what I've seen of him so far this off-season. And I enjoy Friedman's work as usual
I think I've heard this one before, in fact I think that every year Martin has been here there have been stories about him trying to become a better defender, I've seen him try for several minutes only to swiftly return to being good ol' Martin, this preseason included. On the other hand, I do believe that he has bounced back and is in for one of his best years, I actually enjoy watching Martin the shooter.
he's our best player by a long, long, long, long, long shot. depending on your perspective on the w/l, luv or hate.
If we sneak into the playoffs this year... then you can count on it's because Kevin Martin has an all-star year.
I think people are more worried that Kevin Martin will play well and the Rockets won't totally suck/tank
Cleverly disguised please trade for Kevin Martin article by Friedman. Maury probably ordered him to do so.
His expiring contract is too valuable an asset to pass up. Expect either a superstar blockbuster (unlikely) or a young high potential player and a shiny new draft pick come trade deadline.
Yeah, no. Kevin Martin's value is Kevin Martin the player, not Kevin Martin the expiring contract. If his value was the expiring contract you'd get a late first rounder or marginal prospect at the absolute most, unless of course you'd also be taking back a bad contract or add value yourself. That fact that he's expiring might actually be a negative for teams that might be interested in trading for him. The only positiv about it is that you may be able to lock him up at a cheaper rate for the future. There's no guarantee that he'll stay with you though.
As long as Martin helps the Rockets to their third championship, I don't really care what the trade value of his Bird rights is. It's an all-in year so every player goes all in!
Les just loves mediocrity and if Martin has a career year, that will be us! Again! The only real reason to keep him is so we have an all-star this year when we host the greatest game played all year.
I would actually love to have this guy if I had a defensive minded squad in the playoff race. He's like Ray Allen for the celtics when he moved over there from seattle. Martin just needs the right fit to succeed, but succeeding here in Houston is a negative outcome unfortunately because he's not good enough to carry this team.
