Marketing in that developing a career or conducting a job search in the current market involves marketing oneself. Basically, because every individual, whether self-employed or employed by an organization, is in business for himself or herself, they need to treat their career as a business. They need to market themselves on their resumes, promote their unique attributes during job interviews, and do the things that most people forget to do (e.g. 93% of job seekers do not send a thank-you letter following an interview) that convinces the customer (aka the potential employer) to buy (hire you). Sometimes, diversification works (e.g. WalMart expanding into the grocery shopping market). In many cases, it doesn't (AOL-Time Warner, HP-Compaq, etc.). The problem at times with establishing a unique identity is that, if it's something that's negative, such as EDC's bias against JVG (close to 100% of his posts are solely based on bashing Van Gundy), your point will never be taken seriously. Heck, even fans of other teams such as Memphis X and Nuggets 4 give JVG more props than some of our own fans. Doesn't matter- our opinion of the Rockets or the coach isn't going to make one bit of difference in what happens with the team.
shoot, i love jvg if he just told us what we wanted to hear it would be scripted he doesn't act it's cool when something good happens he says it when something crappy happens he says it when nothing is happening at the time and he is being interviewed well, he says nothing The man is honest Don't you guys remember the largest fine of it's kind come one The guy is for real you know it I hope he stays here for awhile Because I trust him
