i'm pretty sure that T-Mac is the main backup point guard or forward (see thread on T-Mac as starting "poing" guard). Head will probably play alongside T-Mac to guard opposing point guards as well as bring the ball up court unless VSpan can prove to do the other "intangibles" better than Head as Head is a better shooter and maybe a better defender and rebounder.

In spite of Akuma's nice post, I think an 8 man rotation is the norm.

I see our starters as Yao, Battier, TMac, Bonzi (though I have the horrible feeling that injuries say he will play less than 50 games for us) and Alston.

The back up big will be Howard. Deke will be for sepcial occasions. Sorry about that for Hayes, who I only see coming in when a change of energy is needed. I know there are a lot of Howard haters, but I think he plays a decent all around game, and will do well against second stringers.

At the back up point I think JLIII gets the nod, but I expect Billy to take over sometime. Maybe mid-year, maybe not for a year or even two. I think VSpan has the oveall game that JVG likes, but he is apparently not ready. Lucas has his shortcommings, but at least he played NBA last year and looked 'nba ready' coming out of the review. Some experience with the Rox can't hurt either. Lastly Lucas is the better 3 point shooter. In spite of how many shooters we have on the team, I don't see a lot of them being full time players.

I see the swing as being pretty much open. If I had to guess I would say Snyder due to size and I (again part of the guess) hope an all around game. Head could be herre, but I was not that impressed by his game last year. I don't think Head is bad, but nor do I think he is rotation worthy. Size and lack of a position work against him. Jacobson and Padgett I expect to be used about like Padgett was during his first Rockets tour. Mostly energy guy just as a game looks like it will slip away. Novak could fill that role also, but my guess is he starts the season in the NBADL.

I think the 'half', is a shooter when we need one. We have a lot of three point shooters (which we so obviously need around TMac and Yao) but none of them really have a position that they can play full time.
