Lifting "here and there" does not equal "serious" lifting. Maybe his serious rehab was swimming, stretching and other non-impact exercises, but its obvious from his comments that hitting the weights regularly was not part of his routine.

Even Francis homers should be concerned, especially if SF thinks he is going to get back on the court in half the time prescribed while only doing half the work.

The best thing for SF, and the Rockets, is not to rush him back to soon. SF needs to be 100%, physically AND mentally, to meaningfully contribute. A lame SF is no help at all.

And Steve should be watching tapes of Adelman's Sac and Portland teams, or even last seasons game tapes, not his old iso stuff. He needs to learn as much of Adelman's system that he can even while recuperating.

Why does Steve need to lift? I would rather have him lose the weight and regain some quickness more than anything. Steve has always been one of the stronger PG's in the league so I don't think thats a problem........

I hope he comes back but reading that interview he seems very unsure of himself. Atleast from his launguage. I hope he gets some tenacity back. Sounds like he doesnt want it. I hope he does:)

    Welcome back Jon!!!

On Rockets.com there was an article where someone interviewed Steve Francis asking him how ready he will be for training camp and he said 3-4 weeks yet in one of your articles you said he should be cleared to go over the weekend. Has his knee recovered that quickly for him to be in training camp so early for a surgery that required a year to recover

(I would use the word 'could' be cleared. He hopes to get the go-ahead this weekend. He still has a long way to go, but my sense is that he is ready to take it for a spin and see what it can do. -- Jonathan)

I wish Francis does come back stronger and healthy but don't get your hopes up guys. He is going to be rusty and will have to get use 2 playing with a whole new group of guys. Yao is no rookie anymore when Francis first played with him. Yao is much better than 2002 McGrady ( ball stopper ) and Artest (ball stopper) are pretty much what Francis is depending on how he adapts 2 this offense
