Keeping 13 or 14 players is about managing the salaries. The Rockets have 13 guaranteed contracts and they are about 2 millions over LT. So, the Rockets will pay double for any extra non-guaranteed contract. Trade will hardly come by in the first 2 months of this season. I bet Harris will be gone. Too much depth at 3/4. U cut redundant player that wont play when u r over LT. The Rockets need more depth at 1/2. Wafer is better shooter while Strawberry is better defender. Strawberry was quite good in Summer League and seems to be able to play PG. I think Strawberry has a better chance to stay than Wafer. Or both will be cut.
13 or 14? I have to believe we have an offer in place to take someone off of our hands, but I'm not sure what that would mean in terms of why. I think we'll end up keeping Harris but I'm beginning to wonder if we really want Deke back.

Funny thing is, during the dance competition when Scola was doing his thing. Barry ran out there and gave a nice firm hand grip on Scola's ass. Hilarious. Wish the video showed it but the team freaked out and Scola ran away.

If the Rocks want to keep any hope of getting under LT alive they need to keep the roster down to 13 or 14 men. Several scenarios to get under LT. All 13-man rosters (league minimum): Francis + Head/Hayes traded for TE/s. Re-sign Deke. or Head + Hayes traded for TE/s. Either Harris kept or waived and replaced with Deke. or Hinrich + Ruffin* + Brown** for Alston + Battier + Hayes. Head traded for a TE. Ruffin waived. Re-sign Deke. *scenario is dependant on Bulls keeping Ruffin over Fazekas and Cleaves as their 14th man. also on how Ruffin's non-guaranteed deal is structured. another note Ruffin can't be traded until the estimated date of Dec 28. **either Elton Brown's rookie min deal is included or Rocks sign a rookie to the minimum for the Rocks to maintain a 13-man roster.

LT is based on salaries at the end of the season. I see them keeping everybody that they think can help until the middle of the season. I don't think Les will mind paying the LT if this team really looks like a contender at that point.
