RV6 I don't think Yao all of a sudden spontaneously blurted out Dec 7. He must have talked with the doctors, the GM, Owner, and the coaches. Maybe Adelman was just sleeping when Yao told him?

Looks like Rockets are trying to keep yao out to make sure he's healthy at the deadline like the way they did with T-mac.

Like i said, i dont think he was lying. That's probably the date they had in mind, but in sports it's never a given. The date will generally come down to the coach, so what yao thinks or what he could have told Adelman isn't going to be the final answer.

In playing fantasy ball, i keep up with my injured players and when they'll return. Too often i read a certain date said by a player and then see an update later stating the coach has decided to push it back or bring them in more slowly. It's pretty common.

Wouldn't say that yet, but you can see Adelman is getting frustrated a little bit with the whole Yao situation.

yao will be traded veeeery soon. they r probably forcing him to sit out longer because the team they'll be trading him to wants to make sure he is fully rested and healed when they receive him.

Main difference being the record. If the Rockets are on pace for a 50+ win season, this could be problematic. But it's not like they're world beaters with Yao on the sideline. There's just a lot less pressure to work him in when you're not losing anything due to it.

Adelman wasn't the first one to say this. Morey beat Rick to it on the radio either on 1560/610. He laughed about it though.

I think Yao's english has been misunderstood by the reporters which happens in most of the videos I've seen. I can't find the article but there was one that had one more quote after asking him about the Detroit date. Yao had said he didn't know that's all he heard from the doctor.

    Exactly.

Tmac: I will return on X
RA: Tmac said that but nobody told me.

Next you'll be hearing about Yao saying he'll undergo microfracture surgery near the trade deadline...

Sounds like good news to me. Not that it wasn't expected. Yao probably shouldn't be a starter anyway in his condition, even from the beginning of the season. He may be better suited to situational use.

As for being similar to Mcgrady, I think the media is just giving it at that angle. Yao doesn't seem to be trying to make waves to the press and protest to rick to hurry and start him. He seems to have been on board with the medical staff as well as listening to the coaches to do what is best for him. I have not heard him disagree with team decisions yet.

Yao should have come off the bench from the beginning but at least they are considering it now. Miller starting with Yao backing him up until he can go all out, should be the rotation while Chuck is brought in for defensive purposes.

You might want to research the fact that Yao is made of glass and gets injured taking a sip from the drinking fountain before posting.

Z never got hurt tying his shoes, or blinking, or farting, or yawning while playing with an abacus.

Even if Yao does come back and the time comes when he's healthy enough to play limited minutes, do we even want to risk another potential injury? Plus I think he might ruin our team chemistry, in that we have been used to playing with relatively small lineup and it seems like we're starting to play with some chip again, not that Yao doesn't though.

    agreed
i'd give yao about 12 minutes as a backup when he returns, 6 in both 1st and 3rd .
anything over that is too risky at this point
