You might want to research Big Z's injury history before posting.

You might want to check the height difference. Yao is 7'6", 310 lbs.

Could it be possible that Aldeman sees the light schedule in December and doesn't want Yao to rush back for these games?

Could it be possible that Aldeman sees the tough schedule in January and February and would rather have a health Yao then when the Rockets are fighting for their playoff seeding?

Could it be possible that ...

I'm speculating, just like everyone else in this thread. Can we give Yao a month or two to get in basketball shape and then evaluate his future?

    Completely Agree.

The 24 minute//no back-to-backs was just not going to work. I believe the Rockets used Yao's minor injury as a chance to cut 10 games or so out of Yao's schedule to accelerate his ability to be on the court longer. That does not mean Yao will be free of the caps as soon as he gets back but i'd look shortly there after to see a change.

Adelman is mad at Yao and JVG having a lunch together. He is showing Yao who is more important, him or JVG? ;)

That's what Yao gets for sharing meat with another man.

I think its just the opposite. This injury is a set back. The Rockets were on the verge of increasing his minutes. Now he'll be back to the original "program" for the forseeable future.

Let the man heal. We all know by now that he's super anxious to get back regardless of his condition. I bet he would even play with a cast on. His spirit is admirable but Yao needs to learn to be cautious so the Rockets can start winning again

Wouldn't it be funny if we trade Yao to Knicks at the deadline as an expiring, so that Carmelo gets signed this summer to New York.

and then Yao signs a min deal with detroit

Rick Adelman, Yao Differ on Return Date
    Posted: 12/3/2010 5:51:00 AM
Source: Joseph Duarte of the Houston Chronicle

While Yao Ming has set early next week as his target date to return, Rockets coach Rick Adelman said Thursday he wants to see how Yao responds to a full workout before any decision is made.

Adelman said he hasn’t discussed specifics on a return date with Yao.

“Yao said that, but no one else told me that,” Adelman said. “He didn’t tell me.”

“I can’t say my ankle is 100 percent, but it’s getting close,” Yao said.

Will Houston treat Yao just like they treated Tmac? If Yao doesn't shut up will he get traded soon????

 ....Can anybody really say they thought he would return in a week fully healed and ready to go? This situation had a fishy smell from the get.....but whatever it takes I guess.....2 more weeks to be fully healed and ready to go.I think the extra percausion is to be safe and also because it was something more than what they were telling us......IT IS WRITTEN.

Yao is a nice guy, who wants to help the team win so he won't get the same treatment, nor should he. Saying all that, communication seems to be an issue with the Rockets because, if I understand it correctly, December 7th wasn't a day Yao just picked on his own but rather a day the doctors told him was the projected day back if all goes well.

If Adelman does this to Yao also I think what we have is a pattern. It makes me wonder if this coach ever talks to his guys and his staff or not?

Would Yao come out and just talk a bunch of crap about return dates without talking to his team doctors?

I think if the question is yes he did. Then maybe McGrady was cleared to play as well and the dear Coach just isnt communicating....A lot of questions and not many answers

It sounds so awfully similar to the T-mac drama.
Anything going on that we don't know?
Is Adelman trying to iso Yao?

I just think this reflects just how lousy and unorganized Rick Adelman runs the Houston Rockets. You've got a guy like Yao Ming saying he'll be back on Dec 7th. Then Adelman says, what? We have no date for his return.

Lack of communication. This is why the Houston Rockets have struggled. Rick Adelman is no Jeff Van Gundy when it comes to communication and control over the players and team. The guy seems to just show up for work, whereas JVG would often pull all-nighters.

Seems to me like Yao was just trying to give the media what they wanted...a date. Not to say he was lying, but i think even he knew it wasn't set in stone. Plus, its not uncommon for players to expect to return earlier than the coach will actually let them.
