On what are you basing this conclusion DD? Your gut? I disagree. Rick desperately needs Yao back but unfortunately he needs the Yao of 3-4 years ago. That Yao no longer exists. However, I am not surprised that they keep fudging on when he'll come back because I think they (Rockets) tried to rush him back from the foot injury too quickly. And I fully expect him to go down again sometime during the season.

It's really bothersome the way some fans turn on our players, yet b**** and moan about loyalty when players leave via free agency.

I can't wait for Yao to get back on the court, stay healthy, and see if this team can gel in time for the playoffs.

They're handling him with kiddie gloves. He lasted five games with limited minutes. Let's face it, the Yao era is over.

Uh oh! Yao announcing his own return date?! Sounds familiar!  :p

No, Morey said Yao said he was going to return Dec. 7th. Morey said Yao surprised the medical staff by putting a date out there. On the other hand, he(Morey) basically brushed it aside and said no big deal.

I agree. Time limitation is useless. He should play whatever he can play and let's get rid of it.

Ok, I don't get it. Why are they saying his minutes will likely be limited? ... meaning more limited than the well publicized 24 min limit? Can't see why they'd say that if they're just referring to the same old limit ...

I think Aldeman sees it that the team is finally developing some chemistry with a rather predictable rotation out there. He does not want Yao possibly disrupting things at this stage unless he is absolutely sure Yao can remain healthy enough to help the team. In his own mind, Yao is not there yet.

He can still be very effective even with the 24 min limitation but probably not as a starter.

I never understand the 24-minute limitation set for Yao.

If the doctors cleared Yao to play, then he can play. When we said he can play that's mean he can play whatever minutes on the basketball. The doctors never said Yao only clear to play 24 minutes per game.

Yes, the team want to prevent injuries but injuries can happen any time on the court. It can be happened on the 1st minute he plays and it could happen on 25th minute. Playing 24minutes will reduce Yao's chance to get injuries but accident can happen any times and it won't wait for the 25th minute to strike.

Rather than worry about this and that, the team should just let him play. If he get injured seriously again, the team still has to move forward whether Les want to sign Yao back, is his money and issue thought we the fans will suffer!
