Believe it or not, McHale is widely regarded as a good coach by people who have been around the game for a long time. He is well respected among plenty of NBA players, and guys like playing for him. He is the best guy to coach this team.

Especially for NBA bigs. Imagine Marcus Camby with the up-and-under move AND the dream shake. Devastating!

Sarcasm alert: Camby's days to be developed are overexposed.

From the outside looking in, it's hard to say. If insiders say so, then so be it. I think he did a great job considering his roster was never the same for any six week period, whether due to injury or Morey trading away his players......

& they still made the play offs.

I'd like to see what he can do when he's got some stability & can work with the same team through the season on a system/methodology.

Agreed. Worst case scenario Greg Smith can play the back up 5 role. Having a veteran spread 4 like Miller is something that could be far more useful.

This is PatBev's role on the Rockets now. Tough D with occasional flashes of O.

Not sure there is enough roster spots. Wouldn't this mean Casspi or Williams is out?

Not sure if anyone posted yet, but...

Rockets a favorite to land Marcus Camby

According to reports, center Marcus Camby may have the Houston Rockets at the top of his list now that he is on the free agent market. Camby reached a buyout agreement with the Toronto Raptors earlier this week which will make him a free agent once he clears waivers on Sunday.

Camby's agent, Rick Kaplan, told Houston reporter Mark Berman that he and his client will focus on Houston once Camby clears waivers based on his previous positive experience with the Rockets. Obviously a reserve role behind Dwight Howard and a potential run at an NBA championship are also strong attractions for Camby to consider.

I don't think Casspi is going anywhere.

    Agreed 100%.

He did a lot of work with Kevin Garnett & Kevin Love. Dwight is probably the first player of that caliber he will have to work with in Houston.

He also coached pretty well in his lone playoff series against OKC even though we lost.

I don't think that Camby at 40 is the right answer to one of the youngest and fastest teams in the NBA.
