I like LMA, but there are many reasons to take Ilyasova over him. - LMA is a max salary player. Ilyasova is not. May need that cap flexibility to sign better role players. - LMA can't hit the 3, which is essential for Dwight. Ersan is a magnificent sharpshooter from 3. - Would take less assets to acquire Ilyasova when compared to LMA.
I honestly had not given Ilyasova much thought, and haven't paid any attention to him. But looking at his numbers...*damn*, that looks like exactly the sort of 4 we need next to Dwight. Again, just going off of numbers... But those 3pt numbers are fantastic. What is his defense like?
We're getting him. He was great during the year we got him. I HOPE McHale knows how to use him this time around.
