This is completely false. If you stop going to the games tomorrow the owners will still be under the obligation to pay the players out of their own pockets for as long as the league is functioning and the player is under contract. The idea that we as fans pay the players is misguided. We actually pay the owners which in turn pay the players. Obviously the owners need us, the fans, to pay in order to continue operating, but we don't actually pay the players. That would be like claiming you pay the salary of everyone at every store you shop at.
You're taking this wayyyyyyyyyyyy too literally. Obviously we're not paying them directly, but i think everyone understands how it works. Yes, players are under a contract, so the owners would have to keep paying them, but eventually their paycheck or new contracts would end if fans didn't support the league and the NBA had to cease operations.
I understand, but people like the OP thinking players are in some kind of debt to us is ridiculous. We can complain about their own court production because that's what we pay to see, but to continually complain of what they do on their free time is simply dumb.
I work at a club of Washington and see Mario Williams regularly. I also see Chase, Jordan and Courtney.
they don't pull tail, it's done without work. i'd be at the strip club daily that's healthy and productive.
what a terrible thread though, don't be a hater if they show up for work and finish the day they've earned their paycheck.
Bad thread. I keep saying it - there is no end to what a person "should be" doing. Alternatives are endless We all "should" be getting ready to work with the Make-A-Wish foundation tomorrow morning for the Christmas holidays (you mean you haven't donated.....? hmppf...)
