I'd like Dwight to be here too. He does not feel the same way... Plus, given Les' aversion to tanking, giving up the farm for Dwight without him committing to the team would not be allowed. Combining all that, there's pretty much no chance (in my mind) that we get Dwight. So I try to look for more plausible scenarios. I suggest you do the same!
I was thinking they might have been doing Adrien a favor by showing the rest of the league what he can do, knowing all along they were going to cut him. It would be a class move, IMO. DD
Yep. This has to be it. Coach likes him and the team was ok with him on the floor. They did him a huge favor by letting him get major minutes. Bima posted on Twitter that this was the last day until his contract was fully guaranteed so my guess is that they cut him now.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2912075 probably right that it still isn't likely, but you never know
I don't have Twitter but I saw KLow asking people to show love to Adrien for last night's game. In light of talk that he may a goner - due to the numbers crunch, I think it's a good idea. Maybe he'd wait around for us to clear some space (09'ners) if he feels wanted here. Just a thought. Just Appreciation - Don't mention anything that didn't happen yet
Nice find. I suppose if we get Deron too - that would change things. I'd feel very conflicted if we got rid of a guy like Lowry.
Les' aversion to tanking is precisely the reason why Morey would make this trade. You don't know what you're talking about if you don't think Les would commit to it. The plausible scenarios that need to be examined are what are Otis Smith and the Magic's options here if Dwight isn't willing to sign an extension on March 15. When you look at it in that light, you have to consider that the Rockets are a prime trading candidate, just like someone brought up that Boston was a prime trading candidate for Garnett even though Garnett didn't want to go there. $30 million is a lot of dough. If Dwight can get his extra $30 million and win too, he'll re-sign. But he's gonna make sure he gets his PG along for the ride to ensure a winning combination. I suggest you look at the plausible scenarios for Orlando for what to do with Dwight!!!
Speaking of Jordan Hill....I found it funny during the game last night when Bill Worrel commented than Jordan had been playing poorly and needed to get more focused...then the camera goes to Jordan on the bench..and he's laughing and exchanging elbows with Sammy. True competitor right there.
Could we get some clarification - if we trade for Dwight, I thought the new six month rule would preclude us from giving him a five year deal.
sam_amick Sam Amick [rQUOTEr]As @Jonathan_Feigen reported, source says Houston to sign C Greg Smith from NBDL. Expected to be multi-yr deal. Rox been trying 2 find roster spot 4 him 4 weeks, but Jeff Adrien only non- guarantee & someone must go. Smith avg 16.8 p, 8.3r, shooting 68%[/rQUOTEr]
Hill doesn't care, he knows the organization doesn't really want him, so he is probably just doing his thing, biding his time until he goes somewhere else. DD
