The proposal containing the trade of T-mac for Baron Davis and Marcus Camby accidently fell under Stern's fat ass and they are waiting on his signature.
DM on now -talking about Lowry -up to adelman on who starts -confirmed that they were looking at Lowry (when they were trying to get the pick from Memphis where he was selected) in the Rudy Gay trade (!) EDIT: was looking to move up from pick 32 to get lowry, couldn't so picked Novak instead - talks about Cook as the spacing 4, confirmed has had challenges, Rudy T thought alot of him when with the Lakers -was looking for a top player, will look in the summer -Tmac will go to Chicago on Friday, hear all the options, then both him and team will decide -lowry will not get the #1 jersey lol
well its settled: daryl morey just mentioned like five times that we upgraded the pg position and they have liked kyle for a while he keeps saying we upgraded and have a better mix to win i trust morey and adelman here. they dont sound sorry at all to let artest go
Magic are desperated for PG to replace injured Nelson, can't we send Head for Reddick in the same deal?
the funny thing is: lowry should have been ours since the battier trade. we should have gotten him then and that is the only thing i consider to be bad about this trade.
Recap Darryl Morey PG - Feel like we upgraded the position. Town will love Kyle Lowry. Villanova coach "Smartest PG I've ever had". We've had our eyes on him for a couple years. Good defender. Can attack the hoop. Can get to the line. Kicks it out to shooters. Knows his role. Knows to get the ball to Yao. Can help us now and build around for the future. Coach is going to make the decision on who plays and how much. Confident in Coach Adelman to keep us on winning path. We love both Aaron's future & Kyle's future. Aaron has played the best at that spot with the starters this year. Gives us great depth at that spot. Who starts is up to Adelman. Not going to tell him who to start. We feel Kyle is an upgrade as a player. We have a better mix to help us win. They are young, basketball is about having the better player. If having a young PG keeps you from winning, then Boston would not have won it all last year. Focused on getting better players. Aaron has some challenges with his build. Don't see issues with Kyle, size wise. Brooks is improving. Kyle is a good defender now. We feel like we've upgraded the team. Have better players now then before the trade. Kyle will help us now and the future. Cook: Favority of Rudy T. Looking for a spacing 4. Had some injuries. Not sure about other issues. Difficult for him to get minutes because of depth. Another chess piece, and can spread out a team at the 5 spot. In terms of leadership, its overrated. With guys like Battier, Luis, Barry, and Yao, we have great veteran leaders. If the player is an upgrade, don't mind getting younger. Priorities: Wanted to add a top player. Obviously, kyle isn't a big name. Both Aaron & Kyle can develop into a top player. team is built around Yao. We need another top player. When Tracy is healthy, we'll have that back. Something we'll acquire in the summer. (So expect a big move). Likely to perform surgery in Chicago with whatever surgery he gets. Until Tracy & Rockets hear all options, then a decision will be made. Scheduled to meet with a doctor tomorrow. He thinks he should hear from other doctor who performs the procedure. He performs the best alternate approach. Morey wants him to hear all options. Lowry will not get to be #1. Same dollars for Cook both years, thinks he'll pick up his option. Cook was just a throw in by the sound of it to make the money work. Orlando is a good match with us for trades.
This trade only frees up $200,000 for this year, and should cost us an extra $300,000 next year. So it cost $100,000 to trade Alston for players who if you add them together dont make up Rafer's production. This on the surface is a HORRID move by Morey, who has been dubbed the Wizard on this board. BUt for now, I give this deal a major D-
the money is basically the same as Rafer's contract. I'll give this deal an incomplete until I see how Lowry plays. You never know, maybe this trade will speed up Brooks' development with all the minutes he'll be getting (plus the fact that he'll be playing with starters).
how can you grade a trade before either guy even steps on the court? it's no lie that the rockets have been high on both of these guys for awhile...
I think the Rockets are gonna make a big move this summer due to maybe not being HUGE players in the 2010 FA class like the Knicks, Bulls and Pistons for example. Who that player will be is beyond my knowledge. The next few days...you guys are gonna see some big names get mentioned on deals that couldn't happen.
