    Adams insurance at best.

I would do it for Jock. He sucks.

All good points but at this point the conversation begins and ends on RWIII's availability(or lack thereof). He has missed 28 games so far this year(some I believe are load management related), 76 games last season, 47 the year before, and 21 the year before that. I do like that he offers two things we are somewhat missing on our roster - a high level rim protecting center AND a rim running big but I believe Portland has been trying to flip him to a playoff contender for a few years now and their asking price has been very high while he continues to be unavailable on most nights and his contract only has 1.5 years left on it.

You don't want to give up a lot for a player who may not play much for you AND is heading into FA where you might lose him. Adams or Landale seem like obvious player swaps but I wouldn't move any draft capitol that has a chance to be in the lotto. I would not be surprising if RW3 comes to Houston via FA after next year anyway - seems like he has a good report with Udoka and staff and unless something drastic changes, we will still likely be looking for the two things I mentioned above by then.

Good points but that makes a lot more sense then that we'd keep Adams and toggle these two's recovery year and then re-sign the better value one.

In this case I would not offer more than a 27th pick. He's still somewhat of an injury risk. However, recently he's looking good on the court. Seems like it's mostly load management because he has the kind of spring you wouldn't have after such an injury. I think they also took their time in his recovery.

In any case, I see it realistic if we manage his health well this season that he ends up being a player worth upto $30m. The issue is I don't think there's any chance his agent agrees to an extension right now unless he's a moron. He should just take it easy this season unless he's 100% healthy and fit and make a big push next season before becoming an FA. If by some miracle they have a handshake agreement to extend him at this price even with whatever maximum increments, I would be very on board with this deal. Otherwise let's limit it to junk FRP's, swaps and second rounders type of deal.

I don't know where you are getting your information.

    Jerami Grant (24/25): is a 37.9% (3P%) on 6.3 (3PA's) per game.
Grant is 42.0% from 3 in his last 14 games on 6.3 attempts per game.

    Season...........3P%..........3PA
    (24/25) Port: 37.9%........6.3
    (23/24) Port: 40.2%........5.1
    (22/23) Port: 40.1%........5.7
    (21/22) Det: 35.8%..........5.4
    (20/21) Det: 35.0%..........6.1
    (19/20) Den: 38.9%.........3.5
    (18/19) OKC: 39.2%........3.7

    Career 45.1 FG%

So above average 3P% year in and year out is chucker? I see you come
from the BobbytheGreat school of upside down world of evaluating
    basketball talent.

I said I'm giving up Reed Sheppard, Tate, Landale, Jeff Green.
Grant provides stuff Tari, Amen, Bari, Dillon, Cam might not.

Cam can slide to SG while Bari can slide to C. So it's not so hard
to play 3 or 4 SF/PF's to combat Cavs, Thunder, Celtics, Hawks,
    Clippers, Warriors mostly guard/wing lineups.

    @OremLK

    Cont'd

    Jerami Grant
    Drives per game

    24/25: ........drives.......FG%......TOV%
    .......................7.6...........39.7%.....7.8 (Tanking Blazers team)
    23/24............10.3..........43.3%.....6.8 (same)
    22/23.............6.5...........48.7%.....9.0 (same)
    21/22.............8.3...........49.1%.....7.2 (Tanking Pistons team)

No chucking there (past yrs), just put him with Rockets players and I assure you that
his numbers will improve across the board. You can't have enough wings.

Plus our defenders will bring out his best defense. Nobody plays defense
on tanking teams. Just like nobody plays defense in All Star games.
    Not worth getting hurt.

    Rockets 24/25 (drives)
    Player...........drives.......FG%...........TOV%
    VanVleet........9.1..........48.1%.........2.7
    Jalen Green...9.3..........47.7%.........6.2
    Sengun...........7.8..........53.6%.........7.8
Grant............7.6.........39.7%........7.8 (I'm saying his numbers will be better as a Rocket)
    Amen..............5.3..........45.6%.........9.9
    Dillon..............3.7...........37.5%........5.4
    Cam................2.6...........38.2%........7.7
    Jabari.............1.9............52.9%........8.1

Many of us saw David Lee get moved to backup as a Warrior in 14/15.....same with Iggy.
Livingston in his comeback. I don't mind Dillon being a back up or Jerami Grant. It's about
    options.

**It will be tough for teams to throw their best wing defending SF to continue guarding Jalen Green
when Jerami Grant can also drive and burn them.

Add Robert Williams rim protection and roll man lob passes....look out !!

Take it from a basketball savant....I know what I'm talking about.

Alperen Sengun in trouble because of Timelord.

Add it to the long list of disrespect. Unreal.

Our defense would be insane with Williams. He’s a shot blocker extraordinaire. But, he’s injured so often you have to view him as a part-time player. You just hope he’s available come playoff time.

If Ime wants him, then I approve. But, probably not for any first round picks.

    These defenders at each position:

    Williams/Adams
    Tari/Jabari
    Amen/Tate
    Brooks
    FVV

Just psychotic thinking by Udoka. I love it. I believe to win a championship you have to take something to the extreme and for the core we have defense is our obvious strength.

I still think it would be a huge mistake to allow this deadline to pass without getting at least some shooting relief though. That's a problem that's creating other critical problems (crowded post for Sengun, crowded driving lanes for Amen/Green, teams can conserve energy by just sitting back in the paint, we're having to lead the league in rebounding to maintain this record purely because our shot making is so bad).

Add it. I'm a huge Sengun fan. He shouldn't chill. Williams is not limited to his current set of skills offensively and has DPOY potential defensively. His IQ and work ethic excellent if you do some research. Physically he's an outlier.

Trust me if Sengun doesn't pick up the TS%, it will start showing up in impact and they will just start sitting him on bad nights if we have Williams. If you're a fan of Sengun like I am, it's not wrong to tell him to pick things up. That's actually good for him.

If you're underrating Williams, mark my words, he will be worth a ton of money for his overall game when this contract expires. A formidable starter in his own right. A guy like that if healthy and seeking a big new contract is going to make a huge dent in net rating (all star level overall impact on wins).

I did some research. Here is what I came back with:

Timelord is going to cost Jock Landale and a 2nd Rd pick, AT MOST.

An immense price for a player with an apparent “all-star level impact,” with “DPOY potential”…

The Alperen Sengun disrespect is surreal. We are talking about the 18th most double teamed player in the NBA, and comparing him to Robert Williams, who is about to get discarded by the Portland Trailblazers. Make it make sense. o_O

You should be ashamed of this take. You will be. Mark MY words: Alperen is inevitable. Foundational piece.

Alperen just put 23-15-6 on this dude and he didn’t even play all that well. Timelord went a respectable 4 & 4 in 20 minutes of action. Watch out Alperen!?!?! :D My god… I can’t even fathom a Houston Rocket fan making this leap. I myself am embarrassed that my own Houston brethren would make such a ridiculous proposal. YUCK!

But that's exactly why it's a big deal, because he's available at a low price and someone has to take the risk on his health which is looking good so far.

I think you're just being a bit defensive to be honest and making it seem as though it has something to do with diminishing Sengun. We're talking about Sengun who's as good as he is and going through a slight dip offensively, that's just a regular assessment of Sengun. You may want to believe Williams is not that good for the surface reason of his negotiation price, but there's no reason we would be acquiring another non-shooter who is a health risk unless there was significant return expected.

It's not disrespect if surely Sengun himself wants to correct this dip in scoring too. Not sure what you're defending here.

You got a 29-14 team with a 22-year-old C that is 8th on the NBA.com MVP ladder, and you want to replace him with Robert f’ing Williams from the Portland f’ing Trailblazers.

**** is f’ing bonkers man. What the F are we doing in here guys?
