I definitely remember that. I thought that was total bullsh*t. That was not a dirty play at all. It was a good hard fould to save the shot; Juwan never meant to hurt the guy.

If this trade happens, this will be a dream come true.

I love the idea of gettin' rid of Mo-T for Derek Anderson.

More shooters... and less of nothing from Mo.

Could we also send Weatherspoon to the Trailblazers with Mo for Patterson and DA? Why would TB do it? Weatherspoon has one less year on his contract, and Miles could move into his starting SF role. This works for both sides, but better for us.

    Sura, Wesley
    DA, Barry
    T-Mac, Patterson
    JH, Padgett, Bowen
    Yao, Deke.

They always say "big for small" trades in basketball are a bad idea. Mo for DA means we can get away with it once. Mo+Spoon for DA+Patterson means we get away with it twice---which is pushing our luck a bit and also leaving us very thin up front.

Plus, Patterson has been labeled a cancer before. He's a 6'5" small forward with no jumpshot that really wouldn't have a place here.

IF this is a trade waiting to happen then I hope Zo's contract is being bought out and signs with Rox for 15-18 mpg.

Hoopshype. com said Van Exel is on the move. Five teams are interested. I think MT is on the move because of the lack of playing time recently. Portland might not be the one.

Patterson may not have an outside shot, but he plays around the basket. Someone needs to rebound and clean up around the basket. I don't think we're worse off having some interior toughness even if it comes from a SF.

Why would we be thin up front? Mo's not playing. Weatherspoon is just a throw-in. We have Padgett. We have Bowen. If we're not going to use them, then why sign them.

Having someone to spell T-Mac with his chronic back spasms some minutes will only extend our playoff... when we get there.

I hope the rumor is true, DA can take some pressures of T-Mac, we just cannot afford to have T-mac keep logging 42-44 min per game. We also need some consistent scoring from the bench. Man, make it happen CD.

last time i checked jj, tmac, and sura were all labeled a cancer at some point and we braught them in the past two years. patterson would have a place here as a defensive stopper. he is one of the league leaders in steals, and he would add some toughness.

    forgot to add:

so what if patterson is a 6'5" SF? we would be trading a 6'7" PF. we are not exactly giving up real hight here. i would do it in a second.

Are JJ, TMac, and Sura registered sex offenders? Did they chase their nanny through the house? Patterson, no thanks

I wonder if another drug suspension would void Mo T's contract...

as much trouble as mad max got into with the law he is still one of the most loved rockets of all time. why? because of the rings. if this trade meant that we would only be 2 players away from a championship then why not do it? the point is to win.

Reluctantly, I'd poo poo this trade. As much as I would like to see MoT's contract dumped, DA looks even less marketable. His shooting percentage is not good, he is often hurt, and he is currently suffering from migranes. It might not be possible, but I think we would be better off trying to find a trade for a player whose contract expires at the end of next year, to provide luxury tax relief right before Yao big pay increase kicks in.

When a premature deal is broke out by ESPN, it usually means the deal is deal.
