I would do it too if he is healthy. Then we have a log jam on the guard positions, sura, wes, barry, stric, ward, barret, and maybe D.A. You know just type it out, I feel funny. Would DA start for us? If not, is he going to be happy here?

I was told that WFAN is reporting Rockets and Nets talking about a trade for jason kidd which involves Taylor. Has anyone heard about this? I dont know anything about it and just wanted to confirm.

Taylor all of sudden is a hot commodity in the league by being in the dog house.

How can we pay Tmac, Kidd and Yao together?

I'd do it, even though it will age us some more (DA is 2 years older then MoT). We just need to move on from the MoT era and get someone useful to JVG's rotation. I'm not getting my hopes high on Derek though, I expect him to be a quick fix to the rotation if Sura or another guard goes out, either that or be on the fringe of the rotation. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised then get my hopes high.

Huh? I have serious doubts about that rumor. Someone que up the Bud Light song.

Not true ... Chad Ford is now reporting that Marc Stein is hearing that the Blazers and Rockets have discussed a Maurice Taylor-for-Derek Anderson swap. Insider has learned exclusively that if the deal goes down, Anderson would go to the Rockets and in a bizarre twist, Taylor would go to the Blazers.

This is reminiscient of the Moochie-for-Spoon deal on a grander scale. Like Moochie, Mo does nothing for us and arguably is a negative on the floor. While Spoon doesn't play much, he's better to have on the roster than Moochie. Derek Anderson is much, much better to have on the team than Mo Taylor... even though DA's shot has been pretty bad the last couple of years, as long as you're not taking a bigger cap hit, anything for Taylor works.

DA's mother is in treatment in Houston. Clearly an addition by subtraction for both, as both are redundant in place (and would still be in their new environs). But, let's do it!

I'll believe it if Berman says it's true.

Hey ya i also heard that Kidd trade rumor. i caught the tail end of the call on 790 but supposdely it was taylor and a 1st round to the blazers, miles and shareef to the nets, and kidd to the rockets. Also the blazers would get that young pf kristic guy the nets have. Charlie shot down the rumor saying basically we would be tradin taylor and a 1st round for kidd, but he said he would pull the trigger in a heartbeat if it were true

Are you serious, Taylor + pick for Kidd?
If that's true, Portland offically is quiting the season, shooting for bogutD
Now, I dont care if we can afford 3 stars, that's least my concern, not my money.
But, that gotta be some sort of heavly angel watching out for us if that goes down.

Who made the call? A fan? It just doesn't sound like a "rumor" to me. It sounds like someone took what was past talks (Kidd-Shareef) and put in a Houston twist for the listeners.

i am not saying this will happen but, in a 3 way deal you cant just look at it this way. You have to look at the overall picture. If this were to happen, Portland gets rid of their problems involving Miles and Shareef, who have had problems wit management this year. In return they get a decent PF to backup Zach. Bonus for them is a 1st rounder. As fo NJ, Kidd and the nets management are at odds. So, they get 2 decent talents in Miles and Shareef for him. Rockets just end up being the beneficary off of 2 team's misfortunes.

Once again, I am not saying this is going to happen. Just pointing out that in the overall scheme of things, it is not that big of a pipe-dream.

not necessarily. The Nets would be getting Rahim and Miles for Kidd. And thats not a bad pairing with Carter and Jefferson. Carter, Jefferson, Rahim, and Miles could be a potent lineup.

did they say where this rumor came from?

ya but unfornately its most likely to good to be true, charlie spoke briefly about imagining kidd running the break with T-Mac and if this deal were to go down how it'd make the rockets into serious title contenders
Also, i'm not sure why the nets would do this because i think they have a real good shot at winning their division so trading kidd would only hurt their chances. I mean even the last place raptors are only like 3-5 games out of first i think

    :D

Portland is so high on MoTay that is willing to take on his contract and have him back up Zach, instead of getting Kidd directly from the nets. Well, Kidd might've request a force-out. Let's all pray this Sunday for this deal.
