Did anyone else catch Jonathan Feigen on 610? They asked him about the Mo for DA rumor, and he said it was very old news. In fact, he mentioned that they discussed the deal at or around the Wesley trade went through. He felt that Taylor will be a Rocket for the rest of the seaon. His opinion though.

Mo did not appear on the bench in the game against bulls, it may mean something.

Thanks for the update. I can see that deal being something that probably was discussed around the Wesley trade to bring in another SG which is what we wanted to do. That deal could be old and dead. Seems to me Rockets trades ususally come out of nowhere and ususally dont get reportd beforehand.

With that said, I still think getting DA for Taylor makes sense now. Perhaps even moreso with Taylor's lack of purpose on this team and perhaps us getting another swing player to ease McGrady's workload. Or if nothing else, just moving out a PF to make roster room for this summer.

and, as I said, with Strickland looking very old and hurting himself last night - there is a spot on the squad.

The All-Star Weekend festivities start Friday in Denver and conclude with next Sunday's midseason classic that will likely resemble a pickup basketball game. But Milwaukee Bucks coach Terry Porter remembers the days when All-Star Weekend was less commercialized. "It wasn't as much marketing as it is now," said Porter, who played in the 1991 and '93 All-Star games while he was a member of the Portland Trail Blazers. "It was a lot more enjoyable. It was nothing like it is now. They had the old-timers' game back then. Guys were blowing out knees and ... I liked it when they tried to get some of those old guys in uniforms."

Look for the Portland Trail Blazers to deal guard Derek Anderson, possibly to Houston, by the Feb. 24 trading deadline. Anderson, who recently returned to the Blazers after a sinus infection and a triple root canal, is not getting along with coach Maurice Cheeks. But he doesn't know why. "I feel like I'm lost in the shuffle somewhere, like I'm lost in this whole organization," Anderson said. "Maybe I'm not fit for this anymore, this situation. The way things are going, I'm not. It might be time for me to leave."

Orlando's Grant Hill, voted by the fans as a starting forward for the East All-Stars, recalls one of his early experiences in the midseason event. "When I was young and Scottie [Pippen] and I were the forwards, and in the West the starters were Shawn Kemp and Charles [Barkley], neither of us wanted to guard Kemp because he was a beast," Hill said. "Barkley was usually hung over, so Scottie would stick me on Kemp."

This is really begining to sound like it will get done afterall. 24Th is only eleven days away (next week Thursday).

Hey Spoon, get to work and lose some more weight cos it looks like you will be getting more spot minutes behind Padget from here on out consistently.

Motay, we appreciate your time and wish you all da best in Oregon.

Good pick up if we can get him. He'll give Sura and Westley some needed rest.

I think DA could help us if he regains his stroke and gets over the tooth problems. He's always been a pretty good passer, decent slasher, and good shooter. He'll fit right in if he brings the right attitude.

Anderson is a solid player. Be a nice pickup if we can get him for one of our PFs (Spoon).

But the trouble with drafting high school players is that they are often free agents by the time they are ready to be major contributors...

The key question is how many of them would have given Toronto less production during the same time period.

If we get DA, come the playoffs, barring inuury, he'll be the Starting PG. his that good when he is playing in the groove.

That's true. Especially back then. Guys like Kobe, Tmac and J. O'neil were basically immature, green novices with great speed and jumping ability. None of them ready lead or start. It took them a while to contribute and play smart. Heck, this is TMac best year IMO.

Amare and James have changed the image of H.S. players a lot. Both have contributed immediately.
