Thanks, franchise. Hopefully CD realizes that just about every championship team has had a solid floor general running the show for them. Even though I love the way Sura, Wesley, and Barry have showed so much heart and determination so far this year, we gotta have the point guard at some point (no pun intended) or another to bring that championship feeling back to the Rockets.

Yeah i totally agree. Just hope the combo of Howard, Spoon, and Padgett could hold down the PF position when the playoffs roll around.

    Kidd, TMac, Yao?

IF we could get Kidd, that would be a dream and almost unbelievable, but I'm really not sold on Kidd. Yes, he is the purest PG in the NBA right now and is no doubt the best passer in the game.

But he is due A LOT of money for a LONG time. IF it happened, what would our cap space look like? After having TMac and Kidd, could we still give Yao the max? Maybe some of you cap guys could help me out.

I don't think there is much news here. What GM doesn't talk about possible deals all the time? Especially right before the trade deadline.

Also agree with Nikestrand - why would Portland do this deal?

Well, Kidd didn't make the All-star game this year, so his trade value just got lower. :)

A PF that plays defense and gets rebounds are not cheap. See Cato.

So from what I'm reading, we get rid of Taylor/Spoon and get Kidd in return?

Sorry to burst yall's bubbles, but unless CD is somehow blackmailing the Portland and New Jersey GMs, there's no earthly way that's happening. There may be semi-legitimate "reasons" why Portland and New Jersey would do the deal, but the whole idea behind "trades" is that they are supposed to be even.

Nobody thinks it's just a little bit ridiculous that we'd be able to get Kidd for our 3rd and 4th string power forwards?

I cant believe we are still talking about Kidd trades to Houston!

Anyway, back to the thread topic at hand...I still think the DA/Taylor rumor might have some legs. I think Portland first wants to figure out what they are going to do with SAR. If they move him for perhaps a 1-2-3 type player that would open up a void at backup PF where moving DA for Taylor makes sense for them.

So my guess is that the Blazers probably wont make any moves until closer to the trading deadline.

I really hope the Rockets can move Taylor for DA. I think that will help us in the short term and open things up for us long term by moving out a PF to open up a spot for a PF for next year. Plus we gain a player in DA that can play 3 positions and perhaps give Tmac more of a rest on the bench during the games.

i think that the DA/taylor trade is portland´s backup plan. if they can´t get anything better for him they´ll pull the trigger feb. 24th.... at least that´s what i hope for....

that was my thought - since both Mo and DA are upset with their teams - and could both use a change in scenary

Hopefully by then DA's off the court issues will be settled and he'll be back to normal just in time for his Rocket debut.:)
