If this rumor is true, pull the trigger on this deal quickly. A very good player who plays, for a underachiever who doesn't. Oh yea, an he's our 4th starting PF. Get rid of the dead wood. DA has heart and talent to boot. MoT just has talent. Howard and Pagett have been playing well anyway.

To some degree, yes. Right now, we need a solid backup to take pressure off T-mac, he is going to wear out in playoffs if he keep logging 42-44 min per night. We need a fresh Mac if we ever want to do anything in the playoffs. Anderson would be a great back up to him since he can play 1-3 depending on game circumstances. Granted a 9M back up is quite expensive, it is still much better than have those 9M bury at the end of bench without doing any contribution.

Our bench is very thin, we need a consistent scoring threat from the bench, DA could be the one.

I would do this trade. I think at the end of it all, DA would be easier to move than MoT, which would be good for us.

Both guys could use a change of scenery, but I'm not sure why Portland would want MoT.

    1. Bad contract
    2. Doesn't rebound
    3. Would be a 3rd string PF.
    4. Has had his share of off-court problems, which I thought the Blazers were trying to desperately get rid of.

IF this trade were to go down, it would be a 'minor' deal. Likely an 'agate transaction'. Minor, yeah -- $55mm worth of minor. Mind boggling.

Still want Kidd. Unbelievable how good Vince Carter can look while playing with Kidd. Kidd even makes a marginal NBA player like Jacque Vaughn look a solid starter.

Now imagine Kidd does to Yao & TMac what Nash does to Amare. That will be insane!

DA's knees are shot. It would be pretty much a wash.

I couldn't be more against a Kidd deal.

This is no knock on you Gatorfan, I know exactly what you were passing along and I appreciate it ... I'm just knocking on "Insider" here. Insider added nothing to the story. Seriously... they didn't add anything. They took a quote of Marc Stein's article (we'll call "A") and 3 paragraphs from the Oregonian (we'll call "B") and presented: "AB". I have no problems with it except for the fact that people start thinking this is an ESPN Insider story.

Re: Kidd. Kind of blown away on this too -- we still think it was a fan who said this, right? I mean I have no problems talking about pure speculation, but just want to make clear this is no "rumor", just fantasy.

    Sports Radio: "We're taking calls."
Caller on Sports Radio: "Yooooo man .... (sic) ... I think we should trade Yinka Dare's nuts in a jar for Tim Duncan, and maybe Manu Ginobli."
Sports Radio personality: "hehe, yeah RIGHT! Good one! Well... "

(suddenly 1000 people tune in right at this moment)

Sports Radio personality: "... Duncan would sure be a nice fit for the Rockets alongside Yao. Now if only CD would pull the trigger on the deal..."

(suddenly those same 1000 people turn off radio and run towards computer)

Sports Radio personality: "... but unfortunately San Antonio has a say on the matter."

    (1000 people arrive at computer)

Poster #1: "Sports Radio is reporting a rumor involving the Spurs and Rockets for Duncan."

(Poster #2 doesn't see Poster #1's thread, creates new one)

Poster #2: "RADIO: DUNCAN TO THE ROCKETS!"

(Poster #2 now sees Poster #1's thread. Replies...)

Poster #2: "I heard it too!"
Poster #3: "I didn't know we owned the rights to Yinka Dare's nuts."
    Poster #4: "Insiders.... confirmation?"
Poster #2: "ESPN's message board is now confirming Duncan is in Houston."
    Poster #5: "Maybe Yinka's balls are in a three-way?"
Poster #3: "It works under the cap! (stats, stats, stats... RealGM ... TRADE ACCEPTED)"
Poster #1: "Don't knock it -- This actually works for San Antonio since Malik Rose has no nuts."
Poster #6: "Does anything restrict us from immediately dealing Manu for KG?"
Poster #七: "Why not deal the evil Sura?"
Poster #8: "I'm being told that Yinka's sack hopes to return in the summer for the MLE."
Poster #2: "When will Rockets2K be posting the video of the Duncan press conference?"

(two weeks later... after Duncan goes off for 31, 21 and 6 against the Rockets)...

Poster #9: "I can't believe CD didn't pull the trigger!"

Sadly, not that far off at times.

Kidd probably will do even better for Amare than Nash has. On the other hand, Nash would be a better fit for Yao because he could shoot.

So then the new deal is going to be Kidd to Phoenix, Nash to Houston, and then we return Yinka Dare's nuts to Jersey. It works under the cap if we include Mo and Spoon.

    Get it done CD!

What ever happened to Yinka? Is he playing somewhere in Europe or South America, still looking for his first assist?
