im comparing the fact that you can win with a PASS first PG with great D and heart and determination who cant shoot to a small SHOOT first PG who gets shut down and frustrated on the regular when facing bigger PG's, you cant win in this league like that and if you believe otherwise you have it twisted
I guess you didn't watch any of the games towards the end of last year. In the last three games, and during a span in which the Rockets went 2-1, Martin and Brooks were averaging 31 and 26 points per game respectively; with each shooting over 50%.
I would rather start KM and AB, get off to a good start, have Kyle come in and rev up the 2nd unit to build on the lead, and have whomever is the best matchup finish the game. DD
We beat Boston with that small PG playing really well in Boston last year and the year before, right? Not sure what your point is again. DD
lol i was comparing the fact that Rondo has won and hes a pass first PG who cant shoot and has great D.. Lowry is a poor mans version and Im not comparing the 2, I was simply stating the proof that you do not need a smallish starting shoot first PG, it hasnt worked thus far and the other formula is proven
Thank you for pointing out the obvious. The last two wins have come against teams at or below the Rockets' level: Indiana & NY Knicks. That is where this team is now and its peers are the Milwaukees, Charlottes, Indianas, LAClippers and Torontos of the NBA.
DD is dreaming that the rockets would build around AB if Yao was not here anymore. I can say this, most rockets players including AB would be traded aways if Yao wouldn't play for the rockets any more. The rockets would be rebuild in that situation.
he had a couple moments that game where he was good, if you are referring to the 3 pt shot he hit over Rondo to send it to O.T. then yea it was a great shot, that was a case of "great offense will beat great D everytime" it was a contested step back 3 that couldntve been played any better.. if a guy hits a fadeaway 3 pointer all you can do is shake his hand and congradulate him.. you fail to recognize it was LOWRY at the point leading the charge when we made the comeback with his superior competitiveness.. if it wasnt largely for Lowry, AB wouldntve had the chance to be a hero
actually i watch every game bub.. obviously you dont understand the argument so Im not going to waste my time dumbing it down, sorry
You said the back-court of Martin and AB is trash. Quit playing dumb. And NO, we aren't getting Melo.
AB's defense is a problem. In 2008-09 season, after Rafer was traded, AB started at the PG position. However, during that period, Battier & Artest played together with AB, and thus AB's defense seemed not to cause a big problem. Accordingly, in 2009-10 season, AB played together with Battier & Ariza, his defense was covered too. But, in this season, AB was playing with Battier & Martin. Battier is decling, and Martin's defense is not good too. AB's defense has become a big problem for the rockets.
I have not seen anyone debating this topic......but again it depends upon whom they are playing with..... Kmart and AB can coexist, but you need some mobile bigs to close down the lane. DD
