I really hope there's a chance we snag Joe Johnson after Hayward decides where he's going, like Cod has hinted at.
Misleading article by feigen. I hope he didn't come away from his talks with his source (morey cough cough) thinking this is what was meant lol
Look, the only games that are about to be played are the Summer League ones, not the actual NBA. We got months until the start of the season, and months more until the trade deadline. Plenty of time to upgrade the roster still. Right now, without making one more signing, the team already has 8 real NBA players to fill out a rotation capable of getting a good playoff seed. So why not wait for something "amazing" to present itself. The FA market is currently full of useful players who can't find good landing spots and pay days and teams trying to dump salary to make runs at the likes of George Hill, Gallinari and D. Rose. There is also the matter of "true bigs" market collapsing as more teams going to stretch 4s and combo forwards.
I see what you guys see/hear...we have a cool GM. Today is today, tomorrow is tomorrow. Morey definitely "simplified" his vision and plans, just like any smart GM. It's your choice if you want to believe that the Rockets are settling. Bargain shopping? That's like the NBA version of Chess. PJ Tucker was a bargain for us, if you ask Phoenix or Toronto. Sweet Lou for Brewer's disappearing talent was another bargain. If a great opportunity comes along, yeah, Morey will go bargain hunting. But, the majority of you on this board know that Morey will go for the kill in an instant. Is he waiting? Possibly. But he's not satisfied with the offseason yet, nor are most of the teams in the NBA who are still planning their attack. Fly Ry is a problem or a solution depending on how you look at things, and it sounds like Morey sees him as a solution to "creating" an eventual problem for another team (s). Chess. It's early. CP3 didn't come here to lose. James doesn't plan on mediocrity and I know NeNe is too old to be battling for the 8th spot. Stop with the "we struck out again" stuff. It's July 3. Peace.
Third best record and record breaking offense. Anderson had a lot to do with that. He just needs his minutes limited so he doesn't wear down at the end. As does harden. We now have players that can do that. This team will be fun to watch.
Let's give Ryno another season before judging. I'm putting his shooting inconsistencies down to it being his first year here, I believe he will be much better for us this season.
At this point, if we can't get any more stars, you have to look for players who will fill our needs at the 4 and 5.
Just a few years ago Morey said he was thru except for some light housekeeping (exact words), Less than two weeks later he announced the signing oh JAMES HARDEN the story he is never finished looking!
I always cut Morey slack on the Anderson signing because immediately after that, Gordon signed here. Maybe he would've regardless, but that wound up being a great move for the Rockets. If it had to be a packaged deal for Anderson and Gordon, so be it. It's not like last season's result was below anyone's expectations.
