No, that is not the case here. Since there is no search, I cannot pull up the posts, but Juugie clearly started posting some time ago by making posts like "Yao Ming sucks", "Yao Ming will never amount to anything", etc. etc. etc. - always the same schtick.

Plus, he gets into pissing matches with people quickly...if someone disagrees, he goes "hey einstien" [sic], etc.

Yetti on the other hand is/was always polite, even though what has been annoying with him is that he repeats himself over and over and over again.

well...I guess I should have said that I wasnt aiming that comment specifically at you..I dont agree with the troll label that you used...but you dont normally just slam people cause you dont agree withthem..

that criticism was aimed at some others around here that automatically call someone a troll if they dare to criticize their favorite player..

Well, a little. But I thought that was a great one on your part. Cracked me up. :)

Actually I enjoyed having Yetti around, obviously not for his post quality, but for a laugh. He's really good for a joke when the Rockets are on a losing streak and you need a quick "pick me up." SJC's right though, he always was polite. I guess everybody do have some good traits.

Honestly, the reason why I mainly post threads about Yao's weaknesses is because there are already 5337282902910 threads about everyone else's weaknesses.

It gets annoying that no matter what the guards do, people here find a way to criticise them. Just search over the last two months and see how many Steve sucks or Trade Steve threads there are and compare those to the amount of threads getting on Yao.

And a lot of times, I'll start a thread like this one, and the Yao fans take just the part about Yao, get upset, and come back telling me how young he is and how great he's going to one day be. If that ain't a one track mind, I don't know what is.

And as I have said many times, I don't hate Yao. It just frustrates me that the man that we are handing the future of thr franchise over to seems to be timid. I just want my team to win, dammit.

Also, Yetti was not always polite. He's called me stupid at least a couple of times.

It makes me laugh to hear people try and predict the future. The point is that nobody really knows what will transpire tomorrow nonetheless 5 years down the road. Yao may or may not become a dominant center but that's not what we as basketball fans should be so conmsumed with. The fun is to watch this amazing athlete play the game like it should be played and doing everything that he can to help our team win. If Yao's destiny is meant to be one of the greatest ever than he will be no matter how many obstacles he has along the way.

Juugie you just need to get on board and quit freakin out. This team is finally on an upramp and even steve francis won't slow it down. JJ, Taylor, Weatherspoon, Cato, Yao, cuttino, m Jackson, these guys are a very interesting mix of players, and definately nasty to face playing the street D that JVG preaches. If people are pissed off, good ! They should be. THis group, excluding the pickups this year, have been completely under achieving up till now. They now have a big rutsy nail to hand their gangsta threads on, defense. If franchise should decide to commit, and stop the kids games, he can be the hero. If he tanks, it will be his ticket out of town, and I betcha Les ALexander is the one who will show him the door.

Without Yao, no defense, he is the last one to trade, juugie do you really notice Yao's Huge inside AND outside defense presence? The guy is the best and the MOST aggressive defensive power for Houston.

Rocket's key issue is Cato and Mot could not provide solid defense in PF position, both are much overrated and overpaid.

Okay, this thread has obviously gone away from the original topic. But just to hit on a few points:

    1) The reason there isn't as much Yao-bashing as there is of the guards is that Yao is a SECOND year player. When SF was in his 2nd, even 3rd year, there was not a whole lot of bashing. Since then, however, his game has continued to worse, hence, the trade SF topics started to crop up b/c his "grace" period was up. By Yao's fifth year, if he has not shown any improvement, those same things will happen to him.
    2) Comparing Yao to JO is pointless. Sure, you can argue that O'Neal is currently better than Yao, but to say that Yao has reached his peak and will not get any better based on his stats today is inane. Look up KG's, TMac's, Kobe's, etc. stats after their second years-not much better than Yao's buddy.
    3) Yao does not need to be a howling, scowling, in-your-face dunker to eventually be dominant like it seems that Juugi is implying. How often do you see MVP and 2-time NBA champion Tim Duncan do those things? It doesn't seem to matter that he can dominate w/o those qualities. Yao obviously plays with heart and cares when he messes up. On several occasions last year and this year, we have seem him scream after dunks. You have to understand that he did not come from a culture that nurtured that attitude that we do here.
    4) How many wind sprints do you think Shaq, or any of the top centers in the league for that matter, can do? Yao has shown considerable improvement in conditioning since his rookie year, and what has happened to indicated he won't continue that improvement?
    5) I think the original post made the ROX look like the Wiz/Hawks/Magic. In fact, I think JVG has been great for this team. What is wrong with holding players acountable for what happens on the court? I love Rudy, but I never saw any accountability in the last 3-4 years.
    6) About SF, he is what he is. He is not going to make some quantum leap to become a TMac or Kobe. I still believe we have to somehow make him understand that he needs to play smarter. As far as him playing the 2, I don't think that is the solution. The guy is a sub-40 percent shooter who plays sub-par defense. How the hell is he going to gaurd a 6'6-6'9 shooting gaurd? I think we should ride out this season and see what happens. Maybe we will all be pleasantly surprised.

Eh... but the problem is, you're not believable.

Like the guards more than Yao? Fine. Dislike the negativity surrounding the guards? Fine. Want to start an occasional thread putting things in perspective w/Yao v. the guards? Fine.

But your posts are always negative towards Yao. And some of the things you've said about him have been patently absurd in the past.

It's not just a "balancing" issue if your posts are unbalanced in content... as well as form.
