That was a hyperbole regarding the lack of coverage we get on ESPN as compared to the Heat, Mavs, Spurs, Lakers.

I think the Rockets haven't earned a spot over SA just yet. The next four games should give the Rockets a true test on how strong they are without Yao.

of the 3, tnt,abc and espn (not counting nba tv since I dont consider them to be national as they just piggyback a local feed and not everyone gets them standard with cable)

espn i believe has the most rocket games. tnt is showing only TWO this year, one of them was the rockets bulls game at the beginning of the season. The next time there is a national game is next wed on espn against the spurs.

i wished we had more tnt games though their presentation and production is worlds better than espn

Read my post at the top of this page. Also, it was compounded by the fact that they showed Spurs-Nuggets last Wednesday instead of Rockets-Lakers.

Furthermore, that has nothing to do with the power rankings, get back on topic! :D

honestly i don't blame em for not showing our games. after having somewhere near the max number of nationally broadcast games last season and putting up as bad of a show as we did, its no wonder our games got cut.

i love the rockets and the way we win by playing defense first, but its entertainment value for the rest of the nation is pretty low considering some of the other run n gun teams out there that for casual fans is much more fun to watch.

You made that post as i was typing my response so there

i dotn really care about rankings at all the only time i wished to be ranked #1 is at the very beginning of pre-season where by default they always put the previous year's champion

I'm sure a lot of people around the US wouldn't mind watching Tracy McGrady and Yao Ming play, regardless of the type of game we play as a team.

Pistons were all about defense, Spurs pretty much still are. They both got a lot of broadcasts.

Also, last season, they cut some of our national broadcasts a week or two before it was to be aired. They could cut some other teams this year and put us on :p

Mutombo's game made the biggest contribution , that's why we are on #3 spot. Straight up!!!

Bring on 1 and 2, I for one want to see how this Rocket team performs against the NBA's best two teams without Yao. They will not disappoint.

Totally agree. I LOVE being constantly ignored in power rankings, national media, etc. It's easily worth 4 points a game.

Great stuff. Nice to get some notice. To me, what's nuts is that we still have a ton of home games left, plus the rest of our team to assemble. I doubt we will take away 3 wins from the upcoming Dallas, Phoenix, San Antonio games coming up, but even still, this team is showing some great poise. To do this good without Yao is astonishing. I hope we roll some heads come playoff time.

How do you figure 5 or 6? We have the 4th best record in the league. I mean, Dallas, San Antonio and Phoenix are all better, but who else? Utah? the Lakers? Somebody from the East? I don't see it. We are top 4. Our record proves that.

You have to realize that we were a lottery team last year. They are pretty generous even to show the amount of game we're getting this year considering our record last season. Like you said, they might cut some other bad team games and add some of our games later in the season if we're still playing well at that time.

then you are never going to appreciate this group of players...

unless it's a dynasty, you had better enjoy success while it comes... hope for future games comes with faith that this team is actually a "championship" team.

Only because of injuries, and if they being at the center of the sports world don't understand how bad a team will be when they lose 2 of the best players in the NBA, then that's really sad.

I will come around when ESPN decides to cut a scrub team broadcast this season and puts on the Rockets.

Beautiful! The Texas Triangle is at full-strenght, by the way the rockets are the only of the three teams who have yet lost to either the mavs or the spurs, lets keep the streak going.
