You forgot about the 6th man. The Kings 6th man is the crowd. They literally will the team to win at home. They suck the energy out of those who come to Arco. If Rockets can be half as loud as Arco, i would be impressed, but i don't think so.
I edited my post before you replied. But that Sac team was still more talented. They should have won a ring.
Your hatred of Shane Battier has blinded you my man. I am sure if you were a Kings fan you would have had similar things to say about Christie back in the day. The crux of this post is to say, yes, we do not have a superstar, but there have been cases of putting 5 good players on the floor with excellent chemistry and getting it done night in and night out. And that is the BEST you can do as an organization unless you get lucky and draft a franchise player or one shakes loose. This team is loaded, top to bottom with quality players, yes, they lack a true superstar, but our overall rosters, is top fricken notch ! Including SHANE BATTIER BABY !!!!! Kind of like the Rox during their 22 game streak, huh? Houston has it inside, a good start and the train will get a rolling baby !! DD
I'm glad you're excited. Hell I was one of the few most excited when I heard we were getting Lee and shedding money giving away Ariza. Lee is a hell of a pick up and the cost is teeny tiny compared to the gain. But JEEZ, we've been reading it 50 million times over the past 24 hours from you. And its not avoidable you're in every single Ariza for Lee thread.
When's the last time a team won a ring without a true superstar? I don't think we even need that technically. We just need to add an all-star caliber player.
Yes, I am........you have the power, it is an ignore button. I am enjoying the talk on my favorite team. If you are that bothered, just put me on ignore...I don't want to ruin your day by posting about the Rockets on a Rockets message board, I would feel devestated about that. Detroit Pistons.......one could argue the Celtics did not have one either, but it depends upon where you view Pierce, Garnett or Allen at that point in their careers.....I never saw any of them as superstar players...just stars. But then, my view is often unique. DD
Nah, it's more like... Bibby=Brooks Peja<Martin (Peja is slow and can't drive) Christie=Battier (Christie has the passing skills and much quicker than Battier) Webber=Scola Divac<Yao The impressive thing about Kings' lineup is that all 5 of them can pass the ball (well except Peja) and all are great lethal passers. SO you can not take your eyes off any one of them...that's why they score so easily. Now if u look at the Rockets lineup...who is great at passing? None!! Yao is somewhat good at passing but if you're talking about GREAT PASSER....Rockets have none. They maybe OKAY or decent...but not GREAT. To capitalize on Adelman's offense...you need great passers.
Wrong. That Pistons team sent 4 players to the all-star team one season. They even played in the game at the same time. We might get one in this season. I won't even address the Celtics one. That's just a ridiculous assertion.
You know what is funny, the offense dictates the pass, not the players, they just have to be able to make the right pass at the right time, it is not fancy, it is fundamental. If you can make a bounce pass to a backdoor cutter, you are good to go in this offense and most of the Rockets can do that. DD
All Star does not = Superstar, IMO. Yao is an All star, AB might be one, Martin is close. The All star game is a marketing event, please don't tell me you take any validation from making a game that fans choose who plays in..... DD
Yao was an all-star. No chance AB gets in with the PG talent in the west. Martin might get in bc I do expect him to have a great season but its still a long shot.
If by Kings 2001 you mean the Rockets won't win a championship this year. I agree 100%. Why would you compare us to a team that didn't win? Aren't we shooting for a ring?
Well the refs took one from them. Also Vlade Divac tipping the ball back out to Robert Horry didn't help either.
I see the comparsions but that Sac team was damn good. I think this Houston team can be great but Sac has chemistry like no other. We don't have that right now. There's too many what if's at the moment. Webber was pretty damn close to being a superstar on that team before he blew out that knee. I love Scola but Webber was great.
Well, I used to like your posts and I am unhappy now. Glad you started a thread to glorify yourself though. Leebig, well I guess the hate starts now.
Webber was a tough dude before he got injuried. He was never the same player. We can only hope Yao can come back strong. I know that's asking for a lot.
I'm not trying to bring you're high down or put anyone on ignore. But wow, I now see why you're up to 60,000+ posts, once you have something you take it by the horns and run with it. Great move by us, can't wait for the season to start. Carry on.
Can not agree on this, DD. There is no similarity between these two teams, style, players...Coach is better, for sure. Our current team is a playoff team, not a contender yet. I would be happy if we could reach second round this coming season.
