different definition. you go to bob to hit you that ONE big shot.

when i think of closer, i'm talking about a guy you go to over and over and over again down the stretch of the 4th quarter to win you games. think hakeem in the championship years. think kobe now.

and OP is right. we don't have one. there aren't clearly defined roles on this team right now...a lot of that is because they can't get Option A the ball when they most need his efficiency.

We got a closer, but he also known as the quitter.

Just wait for the 2010 FA...just wait...

LMAO typical tinman. "I'm the only Rocket fan in the world that actually watches the game." Apparently, not only do you care about the game, you care about T-Mac also. Its ok, we know you love him.

steve smith: "rockets just don't have a guy you can give the ball to down the stretch and run your offense through."

    it's why we're not a championship team.

give him this much talent where he might not have to lead the team in scoring, rebound, or assists, yes he might have the energy to close. hell, he might just play 33 minutes a game in the playoffs with this much talent on the team right now. :D

exactly. tmac might not hit game winning shots everytime, but he's a guy you can run your offense through. he's a guy you know can make the right plays and the right players to take the shots.

and with the talent we have on this team: AB taking open 3s, pick and roll with scola, or pick and roll with yao, or tmac penetrating: that's all better options that what we have.

just like tmac, throwing the team under the bus!

Rick Adelman aka Rick the Ruler has led teams to 2 NBA Finals.

:D I didn't know RA was on the court in shorts and a jersey balling night after night. Last time I checked he is coaching. Coaches can only coach but the players have to play and as I see it I don't see anyone on this team that has closed a series out. I would say Artest but Artest's Pacers team was loaded and he wasn't asked to do that much

lolz, if we had t-mac would already been eliminated.

T-Mac is the biggest loser in the history of the NBA, period.

Even Malone and Stockton had Jordan to deal with to win their championship series.

Cant pass the first round, and I am not surprised a bit that we are clinching this year while he is off the roster.

Tinman is a moron who doesn't want to look at facts. He keeps talking about the game 7 we lost at home when t-mac went off for like 30 pts and like 13 assists ya he really didn't show up then. Or last year in the close out game where he had 40 pts.

    close out = winning series.

Tmac scoring lots of points <> closing games.

closing games = scoring consistently in the clutch and 4th quarter.

go do some homework now rookie.

    here's a fact for you.

tmac teams have never made it out of the first round.

here's your closer tmac guarding brandon roy this year.

This is a poor excuse for an argument. McGrady and Artest wasn't on the same page. It happens. I guarantee though we will get the last laugh when its all said and done. Karma is a ......

That was Tmac's assignment, TNT pointed that out and everyone who saw that game.

all the tmac arguments that he's a closer are poor excuses. cause closers close playoff series, which he has not done even in orlando when you guys think he was michael jordan (hint mj won 6 championships, mvps, and defensive playerso f the year, scoring titles etc)

    who is we?

I hope in 2010, I hope we can find a way to get Joe Johnson. He's a beast, underrated, and can do more than score. He doesn't quit either.

Tinman, who is better a healthy T-Mac or a healthy Yao? Just wondering on your opinion.
