You guys that are comparing his game to Shaq do not understand just how skilled Shaq is.

Yao would be pretty useless if he was 6'9 and didn't have a good jumper.

Sofo has always been a scorer. He's not an elite rebounder as Dorsey, nor that versatile defender. He does not have Dorsey's length/reach/hops; on the other hand he's more skilled than Joey. He has soft hands, great agility around the basket and can even hit a 15-18 foot jumper.

He spent most of last season on a weight loss clinic and he lost like 80-90 pounds (it was said he weighed 440 in his best days). But he's a guy who can be in 330-350 pounds and be a solid athlete, he moves his body really fast for a guy of that size.

That said, I wouldn't bet on him.

We can't get a guy named Σοφοκλής Σχορτσανίτης! How on earth would we even spell it without Google?

He abused Yao in one of those international games. Was it the Olympics? I don't remember when.

That said I don't think the Rockets are that desperate for any center. This is a guy sent to a fat farm during the season.

    Baby shaq is inappropriate.

Baby Stanley Roberts or Baby Thomas Hamilton is better.

Maybe call him "Two Pitas" or something.

360 degrees of charge-taking machine without even moving.

Jared will be back out on the street looking for a job.

i agree with that assessment, the guy actually has nice moves around the rim. Looking at the vid of that dunk you can see he's got fluidity when it comes to pivoting and rotating to make a move. That alone is something Joey never had and something Landry did very well too. He's likely a long shot, but i'm sure the rocket realize that and just want a firsthand look at him to see if he's worth being a 1 or two year project, much like dorsey was.
