    When a lot of teams are around .500, does it mean they are weaker or that its so strong they keep beating each other?

    I actually think it's because there's more parity in the league, aside from the top 2-3 teams.

    The Western Conference is not that weak. I believe that Golden State being undefeated has deprived the other marque Western teams of their victories. Similarly the 76ers being almost winless has given a few extra wins to the Eastern.
