Apologies for the obtuse comment. Van Gundy is a Riley disciple and Riley was able to instrument Showtime as well as NY-Ewing low post ball. I'd like to see what would happen if a Boykins type player fell into our laps. Until then, I'll settle for a Wilks. :)

Your point about feeding Yao is right on. Except that Wilks (or Ward) would usually be on the court with Cato and Taylor.

I agree about the age of Jackson and T Hardaway but did not have time to scour the list of backup PG's in the league. From my view, I find it hard to believe Mooch was the only option. And for a team facing a possible LTax hit, he wasn't the cheapest.

PHX is tanking the season and all they were interested in was cap relief. NY could have shipped them Travis Knight as he is still on their books. Or Othella Harrington who has 1 more year but would have cost the same as Ward's buyout since he makes less money.

I have some severe reservations about Ward and maybe I'm personalizing this but the last time I had this kind of feeling about adding a player to the roster it was Glen Rice. I have a bad intuitive feeling about Ward.

There is an offense built here? Is it built with stealth players? 6 points 8 minutes into the game vs. a team like GS?

The Rockets are 1 and 0 when Wilks average 0.667 fouls per minute.

Well, some people never lose when they hit the basketball court. No matter who's team they are on they win. What if he was one of those guys.

Other guys bring bad karma with them. I'm glad that Wilks brings good karma. The Rockets need all the good luck that they can get.

The Rox definitely needs more Wilks time.

I think the Moochie trade had more to do with a wakeup call for the rest of the team then Wilks play has helped.

I do like what Wilks does and how it creates a different look, but I really feel Moochie leaving put everyone on notice.

I think we are all pleased by what we have seen of Wilks so far. What concerns me is that JVG choose to play Moochie over him, even when it was obvious that Mooch was not cutting it. Moochs minutes went down, but Wilk's did not go up. I respect JVC, really any coach who sees the players day in and day out, and if he felt Wilks was not good enough to replace Mooch, there is not a whole lot there.

Maybe the problem with Wilks is his defense. JVG was afraid that if he played significant minutes our oppopnent may score 70 points.

The Rockets are 12 and 4 in games where I wasn't at the Toyota Center.

The Rockets are undefeated when I eat fried chicken. Looks like we eat Popeye's chicken tonight.
