Absolutely not. We let them ferment. And, loading up for 2.... Two of the worst mistakes I can think of. Good God, Man...You'd bring this franchise to it's knees.
I would happily take on Bertans' salary to move up from 20 to 10. A whole lot of good players could fall to 10. Also, maybe you could combine 10 and Brooklyn's 2024 pick to move up even further - maybe you end up with Cam or Jarace. I'm all about renting out cap space and collecting assets instead of overpaying for mediocre vets.
I've hear Lively may go top 10 now but that's likely hype from the agent. He's apparently showing stuff in workouts that he can space more than expected. Would love Coulibaly and Lively... anything for some defense... Martin, Tate and 20 should be a good haul for Dallas. They need cheap depth pieces. They aren't likely getting a star that can play right away at 10.
I’d take Walker with 4. We need a PG bad but we need one with experience. Putting out a rookie not named Scoot will just hurt the team more IMO. So any PG we might pick would be a backup at best. And if Black is gone then either Dick or Lively should still be around.
If they can get to 10 from 20, I would think about 4 and something for 6 and 11 too. That would give you 3 of the top 11 players in this draft on top of Green, Sengun, and Jabari. Then sign veterans... If it's: Walker Coulibaly Lively Then you're hitting a lot of spots... 2 years from now: Coulibaly Green Smith Walker Sengun/Lively That could be a pretty darn good team.... It would just go the opposite of what we have been hearing. I do wonder if it could be a sign of moving 4 for an impact starter and taking best player available at 10...
Brooklyn appears to be on the path to tread water if you ask me. Not good enough to make the playoffs not bad enough to get a high pick.
Especially when Dick is hot, he can stroke it from everywhere and unload a barrage on the opponent. Though I wish Dick is a teeny bit longer and has an efficient way to penetrate the defense, he would be the perfect pocket Rocket! That would get me excited too
