BTW, wtf is everyone's beef with VC? Have you guys seen him play this year? If TMac had as much heart as VC did in his pinky finger, we wouldn't be having these trade conversations. VC may have underperformed a few years ago, but lately, he's playing like an all-star and has really made it his M.O. to make his TEAM better.
32 years old, 3 years left on his deal.....if you are trading Tmac for him then fine, but if you are trading Artest for him? WTF? Sometimes you get more mileage out of small talent upgrades, remember Mario Elie? If you can get a PG, DO IT...but if you are getting another wing for a wing...wtf? Why bother? This team has holes that need filling.....and SG/SF is not one of them. DD
last year is team's option. so it's really one longer than mcgrady's. assuming ron is gone, who we have left at the wing? getting carter is a good deal. not the best possible deal for us, but a good scenario nonetheless.
Lol, says the guy screaming for Corey Maggette... Corey effing Magette, of all people.... Its not a position we need... its a skill set... like shooting and moving the ball.
The Artest/Battier-Carter trade only makes sense if you think Carter gives the Rockets a real shot at winning a championship now. It doesn't make sense if you're thinking about the future. The Rockets are good and might be one smart acquisition away from really competing for a championship. They'd be stupid to focus too much on the future when their window of opportunity is now. A team this close has to take a chance to move to the next level and achieve the ultimate goal, if the chance presents itself. So the question is, is this trade likely to accomplish that? I think maybe so, but I'll be the first to admit I'm no basketball expert, just a fan.
I think the reason Morey is not going after a PG is that Rafer seems to play better.. more like a quality PG when Mac is out.. and I think Mac will be out anyway in this offseason.. tahts the reason behind hunting VC IMO..
