Jazz had a team option on Fesenko last year. They exercised it. Nothing the Rockets could have done about it.
I'm willing to forget Williams' past. Fesenko is no Williams. Deron doesn't even seem like he really belongs on the Jazz.
Fesenko IMO would turn out to be a brilliant acquisition if Morey could pull it off. He's scarcely older than most 2010 draftees, and already has achieved a strong learning curve. Despise Sloan as much as you want (I do), but the fact still remains that he is a brilliant coach. Apparently Fensenko listened to him where Kosta Koufas either didn't or was the inferior center. Fesenko would not have to develop quickly with Yao and Miller shouldering the load this year and probably next. However, if age catches up to Miller or Yao doesn't recover sufficiently, Fesenko can step in with scoring and rebounding using his agile 7-1, 300-lb. bulk.
I really hope we end up with this guy, his athleticism combine with his size(7'1) is exactly what our team is lacking.... --RB
