Fresenko is obtainable I would definatley like him. Young big guy with Potential and with a soft touch.

Also he is barley a jazz so maybe we get him before he truly takes on the dirty way of the jazz!!!

    I doubt it though.

Dampier wouldn't mind but I am assuming he would cause drama for min. We don't want that in our lockerroom

And why having a legit backup for Miller is a priority. Honestly, the Rockets do not want see their playoff hopes disappear if Yao has another injury. They want to be prepared for that. Not just for Yao, but in case Miller has to miss a few games. Having two veterans to backup Yao only makes sense.

But like I said in one of the threads about Carmelo, the Rockets have too much depth, and are boxed in because of it. A multi player trade would have the secondary advantage of not just snagging an elite player, but also clearing up roster room, because Morey keeps adding quality players every single off season. and that trend will continue.

The Rockets are going to have one of the most competitive training camps in the league.

I don't believe we are after him, we are stacked at the PF and the C position, why would we go after this guy, plus he is a scrub.

Dampier is my most disliked center in the league. I'd take Fsenko over him any day. Hell, I'd rather just not sign anybody at all then get Ericka dampier on this team.

This team is full of warriors who are tough and will do anything to get that W. Why mess that up by getting a softy like Damp? He probably won't even cheer for the team when he's riding the pine.

Will Yao's leg hold up this year? Nobody knows.
It make sense to me that Morey could be interested in guy like Dampier for vet minimum.

I wouldn't interpret it as DM not loving Miller, He's a perfect RA player.
Its has more to do with Yao possibily getting hurt again this year.

I thought our roster was full? Haven't looked in a while though, could be off on that.

Regardless, not a Dampier fan, he's never come off as that tough to me, nor does he play with the energy or BB IQ that these team needs. As well, he seems like he would whine and play would drop off if he doesn't get his minutes. Can you picture him playing at the top of the key, making a pass to a cutting wing or shooting a jumper?

I almost get the sense that DM is partially trying to drive the market up in this case. If we get him, great. If he goes to Miami, then he would have gone there anyway since it wouldn't be about money. I can see Cuban signing him just because he tends to think DM knows something that he doesn't know.

Rockets Reportedly Offer Dampier 2 Year Deal

I say he will help in limiting Yao's minutes. Better than we had last year where we were just plain outsized.

Brad Miller proved last season that he is still a solid starter. He should be splitting minutes with Yao 24 mins a piece. Adding Dampier complicates things, however he is a rebounding presence that would be nice.

Jordan hill MUST be on the chopping block.

14 guaranteed contracts corresponding to 14 legit rotation players (except maybe the rookie patterson) plus a stated desire to add a 3rd point guard......smells like some sort of trade is comin up..

Just beat me to it. I say no unless it's very very cheap. We have Yao/miller already and if one of those go down I'd rather throw in Hill for some exp. Sure he's a PF but in spot minutes I'm sure he can play the 5 just for some extra court time..

I really wouldn't mind going after this guy, he performed well against the Lakers in the playoffs. To bad the jazzholes are going to match....

I dunno if I like this choice, but its better then nothing. It makes sense in a way. Damp provides some rebounding and defense which we could always use.

However, we already had a full roster before this, excluding Harris and Johnson. Which makes me wonder if a trade is brewing...

Don't mind Dampier as a platoon guy. He is one of my less liked guys in the league, but his size alone makes him a top back up in the league. 7 rebounds in 23 mpg last year - Miller had 5 per with the same minutes.

I agree it's awfully strange to be chasing him that hard when we already have some 18 guys in our frontcourt - either Morey wants to cockblock Miami bad, or there's a trade going down.

I agree with your adding Dampier complicating things but being nice, I would say Jordan has to be on the chopping block - though he might be. From what I've seen of Jordan so far is that he makes a good athletic backup PF but he stinks as a 5 - I think that experiment is over.
