Actually, you are wrong--we will have grabbed the second best center in the League. ;) :p

Didn't Shaq once ask who is Derrick Dampier?

There's no reason not to get the 2nd best center in the league.

Please, no. Maybe if he's to be included in a trade. One can only hope.

At the end of the day, given his previous contract a few hundred thousand here or there is irrelevant.

That being said, him for 2m would be a steal for dealing with B2B's and any injury to Brad and Yao.

Why are there no pictures of Dampier passing?

Seriously though I ****ing hate Dampier. Please no. He's so bad. Like a fatter, taller, way more worthless Chuck Hayes (I love Chuck, not hating) who can't hit a ****ing layup. ****.

Yeah that's some BS, and everyone knows Dallas is an annual first round knockout...

Dudes, re-read the article. The writer was talking about Dallas being the only championship contender among the teams that still had the FULL MLE to offer free agents. The Rockets don't have the full MLE remaining.

    Chill out.

Oh, yeah. And I'd love to add Dampier on the cheap. He's a clear upgrade (IMHO, at least for next season) over Jordan Hill.

"I'm at the end of my career looking to go out big, might as well jump on board with the Miami 3. "

Why wouldn't he decide to do that?

This thread goes along with the limiting Yao thread. Putting the two threads together suggests that Yao's recovery may not be as far along as has been reported.

To me, this kinda goes back to what i said earlier about the rockets. Personally, I wouldn't have ever given mle to miller. I would have signed fasenko, mbenga, and traded for hollins. For the money they spent on miller whom i do like, they could have had 2 young guys like fasenko and hollins(via trade) and an old brute(mbenga) to fill the void. Damp is probably more established than all 3, but if yao cant come back and play high minutes at a good pace, the rockets aren't going anywhere anyway.

He thinks more like, "I'm getting up there in age, but I'm still at least the third best center in the league. I'm either going to New Jersey to turn that franchise around, or I'm going to Houston since I'd have a great back up in Yao Ming, the fourth best center in the league."

This isn't a bad idea. The Rockets are not trying to replace anyone with Eric Dampier. Dampier is more of an insurance just in case one of our big fellas goes down again. But its always nice to have an extra big man on the roster.

Good points. But I think Miller has added value in that he's played under Adelman's system, and he already has great chemistry with Kevin Martin.

Who knows, maybe we will still obtain either Dampier or Fsenko anyways.
