Damp is waiting for the Melo trade. If we trade for Melo, look for Damp to sign with us.

He's taking his time because (a) he's not interested in preseason work and (b) he's holding out hope to find someone with more than a $2M offer. Don't forget how much cash evaporated when Charlotte waived his $13M.

I'm not sure, but Chicago and Phoenix *might* be slightly below the cap and have a little extra money to offer him that bests our standing offer of the LLE.

And Yes, we really could use him, even if he is the same half hearted, passionless lump we've known for years. With Yao missing all back to backs, and probably not ready for even the full 24 mins/game, we could really stand to have a center that grabs 7 boards in half a game of PT without even caring.

We could use him but I'm just worried about him being nba ready like he hasn't done any training camp stuff and is probably not going to participate in any preseason games. I hope he's working his butt of at a gym or something

I'm telling you: he made his decision a couple of weeks ago. At Dampier speed, he relayed this to his close relatives in a phone call that lasted about one week. Then, for the last week, also at Dampier speed, he's been typing a text message to his agent.

Forget Dampier. We don't need him. We've got Jordan Hill and Chuck Hayes to spot Yao and Brad.

The Blazers can't catch a break when it comes to their bigs.

Nothing new. Blazers signed center Steven Hill for the training camp.

They cursed themselves the day they selected Sam Bowie over some guard from North Carolina that we were going to take at #2....

Really don't care if Rockets get Dampier....They have Yao,Miller,Hayes and Hill. Unless they setting up to trade Hill along with someone when the opportunity comes. I'd rather sign Deke out of retirement to sit on bench.

Yao will only play 24 mpg and Hayes and Hill are really PFs. That could leave us with superslow non D playing Miller as our only real center after Yao. If we can get the depth, do it.

Yeah but if we somehow get Dampier, wouldn't that be our 15 man roster limit?

Ish Smith would have to be cut then right? I really want him in our rotation just incase Lowry goes down or we trade Brooks.

So Dampier still hasn't signed with a team?

Maybe he really does think he is the best Center in the Western Conference.

Hopefully, Morey has decided against it by now.

Jeez, it would be horrible having to root for Erica in a Rockets uniform. Like if the Texans acrquired Cortland Finnegan from the Titans... disgusting.
