Yeah, and Dampier sat on the pine once Haywood got there. What's your point?

Even if they have Haywood and Chandler, they still need a 3rd guy since Chandler is injury prone. The Mavs don't even think he's worth the vet min. Why the hell would we want the Mavs' sloppy seconds?

I think he should sign with the suns. Nash will make him look good.

Maybe, but then all the people on here would hate Morey for not going after him harder!

good if he's Chicago bound..but he'll get Kurt Thomas as competition there...Phx is also a good destination for him.

I hope he heads off to Chicago. Boozer's out from 6-8 weeks. Bulls play Knicks on Nov 4th. If he can help the Bulls get that W, the NY pick swap goes up in value little by little.

I hope this isn't a prelude to what this entire year is going to bring.... sheesh I feel like you're gonna keep up with the Knicks more than the Rockets!

I think Phx has an interesting frontcourt, but with any arrangement I don't see Dampier getting many more minutes in Phx than Houston or Toronto so they better pay him some good $$$. The only other thing Morey could have done to go after him harder would be to set a deadline and as long as he had other offers decent chance it doesn't work. We would have been bidding against ourselves to raise the price tag.

I really have mixed feelings about getting the guy. My initial reaction was, "Awesome! We're going to have another big dude to backup Yao." The b!tch is attempting to forget all those years of throwing bombs of ridicule at the goofus when he played for the Mavs. Maybe we're better off without him.

Dampier really has some nerve to drag this out like that.

I can understand waiting a period of time to see if you don't get a better offer somewhere but it has hit a point where it's 1:59am and he's hit on everyone in the bar - male and female. I think I'm walking out at this point. I know we really need another C but I think we are just going to have to go with Miller, Hill and Hayes as our backups. At least we have 1 true C which is 1 more than we had last year. And Hayes has stepped up his O game.

I'm not getting the warm fuzzy that Dampier is heading to Houston even though we've offered him the most money. He even passed up a free trip to China. The teams that were his 1st, 2nd, etc choice have said pass - at vet min - even though they have a need. That should be a warning.

I hope the heat reconsider this guy. I sure as hell don't want him on my team.
