That's true, but unless they think he is absolutely terrible, I don't see how that would be a bad thing. Plus, we could still play Patterson at PF and either Scola or Hayes at C for a few minutes, depending on matchups (like we did last year basically all year).

From what I'm hearing now... He's trying to decide between Houston and the buck's... first it was Houston and Miami... this guy is playing game's.. and we're offering pretty good money.. I think we should bring that offer back in, and find someone else thru a trade or useing the Exception.. If he really wanted to be here.. he would have signed a long time ago..

I didn't offer up a scenario at all. I simply asked why he thought a guy set to make a lot of money would "most likely" be opting out of his contract when he has no idea how much that player will be able to make under the new CBA.

Thanks to Lebron, every player thinks they can get the star treatment.. Who the hell does Dampier think he is?? It's not like he's some young stud. Make up your mind already!!

I can't believe this is even being considered...Dampier is horrible...having seen him play in Dallas, why is he even in the league still...no game whatsoever...

Here's a little clip/analysis on what Dampier can do.

If we can survive with 6'6" as the starting center, I think we will do just fine with Yao Ming, Brad Miller, Chuck Hayes, Jordan Hill, Patrick Patterson and Jared Jeffries in the roster.

He'll take the offer or he won't. Simple. We don't need to press him to sign, because there's no sense in having a non-committed Dampier on the team and he's a bonus big. If he joins, great. If he doesn't, fine.

Last time I checked the goal was to win, not to survive. We're not shooting for a winning record, we're shooting for a championship. I don't trust Brad Miller's defense and I always wanted a big, defensive-minded backup center instead of a scoring backup center. Dampier fits that mold.

    Ugh!!! I feel a pain in my chest! . . . I can't feel my legs! . . . Oh, it's so cold..........

Avenge me, Carl Herrara, with another Memorial Thread regarding how the amount in expiring contracts does NOT equate to the amount of cap space a team has!!!!!

Hehe... Maybe it's time for Clutch to consider an entrance exam to Clutchfans. :)

You can write the CBA portion of the exam and tinman would be happy to write the "Rockets History" portion.

First question, "Who is the Dream?" (a) Hakeem Olajuwon (b) Yao Ming (c) They both great dreams.

No fall back plan now. Fesenko and Mbenga are gone. There really isn't any other free agent big worth pursuing. Dampier needs to make up his damn mind.

Not sure if this was mentioned in the 25 pages of this thread so far, but Toronto is apparently expressing interest in Damp as well.

    Let the Dampier Sweepstakes begin.
