Well if Spurs are holding a fire sale like the Nuggets are, than so be it.

he can and likely would opt out after this year. there is no reason for his contract to be dumped at a fire sale price.

Would give Morey's left nut for Nene but so would almost all other teams so can't put all eggs in one basket. Damp you can get now. If you get Nene later, you decide what to do with the roster at that pont.

Well Woj did say nothing is untouchable except Billups and Lawson and the goal of the Nuggets is to free up some loose salary.

Worst case scenario, he opts out with us and we get 11 mill in capspace.

worst case scenario is we give up patterson or hill and a first and he opts out.

further we would be trading players that are expiring in the first place so we would have that cap space if we didn't trade for him.

Free agent center Erick Dampier is reportedly choosing between signing with the Bucks or Rockets.

Dampier recently spoke with Bucks coach Scott Skiles and was "pleased with the tone of the discussion," but Milwaukee can only give him the veteran's minimum $1.3 million. The Rockets haven't made a formal offer but could pay $4 million over two years, though he likely wouldn't play as big a role. His decision is expected soon.

What makes you so sure he's likely to opt out? Know one even knows what the CBA will look like after this year.

It's a worst case scenario, and your scenario wasn't.

Dampier really thinks he's Lebron. I'd say forget him. Jordan Hill can't be so bad that he shouldn't be good enough for 8-10 minutes a game, which is all that is available provided that Yao and Miller are healthy.

agreed. plus i'd rather get a 3rd center who we can develop as a long-term backup instead of 35yr old mutt

You know you can't count on Yao to stay healthy for a whole season. Jordan Hill will be getting at least 15 minutes in back to back games.
