That's the normal pistons, a playoff flop every year, just like the rockets for the last 15 years.

    2010 Rockets
C Yao played 8 games in the previous season, because of a broken foot bone.
G Kevin Martin played in only 51 games in the previous season, because of a weak wrist.

    2004 Pistons
C Big Ben, undersized by sturdy C, played 72 games in 2002-03.
G Billups played 82 games. An under-the-radar All-star that had 8th highest win shares/48 min in 2002-03, but he was not popular enough to make the All-star game at the time.

I think what some of us are giving up on is standing pat when a opportunity comes around to improve the team.

If it is true that the Rockets made him an offer, what in the world is taking him so long?

Conflicting reports on whether they made him an offer but whatever the case is, he is holding everything up.

Rockets waiting on Dampier, Dampier BSing, Fesenko waiting on Rockets, and well...it all goes back to Rockets waiting on Dampier.

    Feigen thoughts on it:

    Yep, Dampier is Patient Zero.

He's apparently considering offers from Houston and from Milwaukee. I understand he doesn't want to rush into things, but he is holding everyone up for the moment.

I like Adelman's style. It's fun and entertaining. During the JVG years, it was torture.

Perhaps the other teams did not want what we had to offer......and at the end of the day, who cares????

Don't give up, sometimes a superstar emerges....Kevin Martin is poised to be a big big weapon this year....and if Yao gets healthy we are pretty damned good as is.....

There is no guarantee that if you get Melo or Bosh that the team would be better as it is currently constructed....it is all a gamble.....

Right now, this is the team, giving up, is weaksauce....

I understand frustration, but the whining .....BEFORE THE SEASON even starts is unreal.

Yes, he is. He could end up "screwing" the Rockets. Maybe not screw but...Of course I dont think Fesenko or Dampier will make or break the Rockets but they could come out of this neither. If nothing comes down by midday tomorrow, Rockets should move on to Fesenko(no guarantees of getting him either).

    There's always DJ Mbenga! :p

No, but [paraphrasing] Morey said they aren't looking at adding just any C. We shall see what happens. Some BSing around the NBA right now!

At the end of day, I care a fair amount who is on the team and who isnt. Getting into the hype of speculation is fun, to a point. Wouldnt argue against that point being breached some time ago though.

Your right. No certainties. So we work with probabilities instead. Established stars are better bets than potential ones. When you cant have the former, you stock pile the latter. I agree with you on this.

I think what you call "whinning" is the result of many feeling like the Yao era might be closing. This coming year might be the last. Something MUST happen now.

Man, he seems to play around with the Rockets. Firstly, he considered Rockets and the Heats. Then when Denver and ATL jumped into the discussion, there's a report saying he also considered Denver. And now Bucks pop up. If Yao's Shanghai Sharks give him an offer, he might consider between the Rockets and the Shanghai Sharks.

Why is he taking forever to make his decision? Who does he think he is, Lebron?

I wasn't the one comparing a SG and a PF...

I do think it's telling that CWebb could average 4 - 5 assists per game from the 4 position, and Martin averages 2 assists as a guard. Why? Because he creates for no one but himself. We've had 2 guards like McGrady and Drexler who could get 6 or 7 assists a game, heck, Max averaged 5 one year. My point was that it takes more than just scoring 25 a game to make someone a superstar. You have to be able to create for your teammates, and you have to be able to carry a team to some level of success.

Man....I wish a decision would be made already, I'm sick of waiting for something to happen. Sign us Damp, trade us Melo or Randolph....Let the Rockets fans settle in before the season gets going. Not only that, but I want ALL the 2010-2011 team to be all together during training camp so we can make the best start possible to this season.

Going to say I agree with DD when he say's it's going to be very exciting, just wait and see.

It sure might be, so what?

Let's see what happens.....this place is full of a bunch of chicken littles running around screaming "The sky is falling, the sky is falling"......

When they don't have a clue about what is going on.

Dampier is just waiting for the mello trade to go down before he makes up his mind.

The Rockets are offering the LLE while the Bucks are only offering the minimum like the Heat. If Ericka has to think about it that's verytelling of what he really thinks about Houston.
