i cant believe the lack of love for Ralph. Pre-knee injury, Ralph put the Rockets on the national map, sure Mo took us to the Finals, but we beat the Showtime Lakers. Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Scott, Cooper, Rambis..Riley And we beat them so dramatically. Ralph, we *us true fans* know if you had a couple of more injury free seasons, we'd be talking about the Rockets Dynasty!
I liked Vernon at the time, but I don't consider him one of the greatest ever. And, tinman, give us ALL a break with this thug life crap. The guy carried concealed weapons, used drugs and has been busted multiple times for failure to pay child support. That's not a thug. It's a deadbeat. As much as I appreciate what he did for the Rockets, it doesn't change the fact that the guy was a criminal and, way too often, a loser off the floor. Hell, even John Lucas, a guy who himself was admittedly a deadbeat, gave up on Max. At some point, you have to be accountable for your actions when you aren't a superstar on the basketball court. And that stardom gives you ZERO shortcuts. If anything, you have to hold yourself to a higher standard knowing the spotlight is on you.

Not sure if they ever faced each other during a game, but if you read Hakeem's autobiography, there are some great stories about Moses and Akeem battling at Fonde when Akeem was at UH and Moses was with the Rockets. Hakeem pretty much credited those battles with Moses for turning him into the player he turned out to be. Moses taught him how to play like a man.
