Why would JVG go for a player swinging door defense for the MLE when he could have spent half that for a taller, faster, more athletic player with equal or better shooting ability? Why would he forgive Murray his defensive deficiencies and not take a chance on Rudy Gay when R.G. already was known for his defensive ability? All this makes no sense. I'd rather keep Richie Frahm than add Murray.

I may be in the minority, but I like Flip Murray a lot, he would fit in great as our starting 2 guard.

IMHO.

You may need to do some convincing on that, not that I wouldn't take Flip at this point, but... how do we compensate for his lack of perimeter D and 3 pt. shot?

well they just said on 790 that Flip and Banks are the two players we are talking to now so I would not be surprised to see this happen.

i like flip murray too. people are bashing him too hard...he's not that bad...HOWEVER if he's just under the MLE, then we will be overpaying for him. i think he's worth like half the MLE, but not near it. i don't think he'll go to a team that offers that little, though. he'd be a good sixth man, IMO, but let's not lose our entire MLE on him alone...please, CD!

Murray is looking for the full MLE and some team will be foolish enough to give it to him.

Flip for 5m/year? Please no, don't go into panic mode just b/c we missed out on mike james. I don't think he fits in at all w/ the rox - not a good shooter, and needs the ball in his hands to get his points.

Banks yes for somethin in the 3.5m range.
I'd take VSpan over Flip for the 2 guard.

ESPN - The Detroit Pistons have come to terms with free agent scorer Ronald 'Flip' Murray, according to ESPN, with the Pistons landing the explosive scorer at a bargain price.

The Pistons originally offered the majority of their mid-level exception to Murray, but Murray hesitated to take it, hoping to get a more lucrative deal elsewhere. He later accepted a two-year, $3.6 million deal, a league source told ESPN.com

thank god, it's over..

can't believe! Flip's agent sucks!
He rejected a 400/year contract from Seattle last year and accept a 180/year contract with another no-chapionship hope team.

Im glad Rox didnt sign him....Now Rox can heavily pursue VSpan since not many free agents are available.

Hopefully, that sets the ceiling on the price for Banks.
