I've been a fan of Ariza his entire career but i'm not sure I like this idea on this current squad. Our team is seemingly in transition, our future is up in the air. Ariza is a Battier-type glue guy that doesn't necessarily suit the rebuilding effort very well. I would think we should concentrate on other areas first.
agreed, but i'm happy to see that Morey is being agressive trying to get the right players. Ariza continues to improve his game every year. If we could lock him up long-term that'd be a wise move IMHO
I think he will finally stay in Los Angeles. Our team seems like not so attractive as before, after Yao severely injured again.
unlike shane you know ariza is goin to hit the shot about 75 % of the time.shane is a corner guy while ariza spreads around the 3 point line.
i see this lineup for next season PG Brooks/Lowry SG Ariza/Taylor/T-mac (After the all-star break) SF Battier/White/Budinger PF Scola/landry C Gortat/Hayes/Yao (playoffs)
What? There's someone in the league that can hit 75% of their shots? Or are you only talking about 3 pointers, then I would understand....
weird because the stats prove other wise please stop speaking out of your butt before you say something like that Ariza is a good player but he isnt as good as everyone believe he is, if people were upset at the lack of offense Battier provided they are going to be livid with Ariza who cant create, isnt nearly as good of a spot up shooter and defender as Battier is. edit: ariza is athletic and can finish the fast break well that is something you do not see Battier do
I feel like Ariza is a younger Battier. What he does have over Battier is that he's way more athletic. But Shane is more intelligent basketball wise, way more. It would not hurt at all to get Ariza, he's a young player and he would learn a lot from Shane. But he's going to demand too much money watch. He either goes to OKC or a place like that for the most money OR he signs the MLE and goes back to starting for his hometown, ring winning team.
(Being Sacastic) Then Having Battier and Ariza on the same team and on the court together will be an even better defensive team thyen what it already is.
Um yeah, it would be actually. Who do we have guarding 2s and 3s right now without Artest and Battier? Just a aging Battier now. Ariza would help this team out but he'll come at too big a price.
I don't see how any Rockets fan could want any player from the Fakers at any price. I mean, seriously, is this what it has come down to? I vote Nay.
I think that he'll take a mid-level contract especially after the lakers offered him that it was like a slap in the face he said and he'll leave L.A. for a mid level contract.
So...this isn't going to happen, but what if the Lakers for whatever reason wanted Tmac so bad they'd give us Kobe and Gasol. Money doesn't match and it makes no sense...but i'm just saying....
I believe Morey is targeting anyone he can at this point. We're losing Yao, Tmac, and Artest. It's desperation time!
Do not want Ariza. Isn't a scorer or a shooter, and will never be either. Pretty good role player and all, but there's no chance a rebuilding team should ever pay a guy like him anywhere near mid-level. Gortat is who we want. Gortat Gortat Gortat. Get Wafer back too, while we're at it.
