Ariza is not going to replace Battier. But if Artest leaves, Ariza would be a good replacement, although I would definitely prefer Artest. We should try and sign Ariza no matter what happens. He is at least a significant upgrade to Von Wafer.

I agree......but sometimes you need to take the chance........If we are always cheap, it leaves an impression to every other free agent (avoid Houston because we want good talent, but you have to be cheap) Personally if other teams are offering Ariza 6-7 million and if the Rockets want to fill in a hole, than they need to pay it. We ain't going to find a star player for 6-7 million dollars.
daryl morey is turning into a real sucker. go after the 2 players who made names for themselves deep in the nba playoffs. real groundbreaking work you do there, genius.
hey have some good news morey is meeting up with ariza here's the link.... http://www.myfoxhouston.com/dpp/sports/nba/090702_ariza_rockets
Or a guy who has had a well above average PER while playing lockdown defense for the last two regular seasons. But yeah, I'm sure all he's looking at are a couple of playoff series.
heres another link we have met with a ariza and offered him the mle multi-year deal... http://realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/60286/20090702/rockets_meet_with_ariza_prepared_to_offer_mle/
The Rocket tragedy continues. We pick the newest injury-plagued player -- Trevor Ariza. He has feet of clay. Despite the need of a center, signing Ariza would be a sound move, considering the Artest situation. I wanted to acquire him when he was with the Magic. However, that was before his foot injuries. I see a bad moon rising.
hah. roll your eyes. you honestly believe that he's going after both of those guys if they got knocked out in the first round of the playoffs??? talk about giving the guy more credit then he deserves. ariza's been awesome for the past 2 seasons?? what accident happened that took away the genius's foresight and ability to acquire him for pennies like the lakers did this season?
After Ariza signs a MLE type deal with some other team (that is probably better at the moment), watch for all of the MOREY SUCKS posts. It's gonna be a long offseason. Think about it. Why would a free agent come here if there is no Tmac, no Yao, no Artest? MONEY. If Morey is deadset on being shrewd with the money, there is no shot in getting any "big name" free agents. This team will have to be built by trades.
looks like gortat is goin to dallas so we offered ariza a sweet deal... if we sign ariza, artest might change his mind and return... then we will probably go after mcdyess and have dorsey back him up unless we can get zaza pachulia... hopefully we dont rebuild and instead reload!! in morey we trust..
