Mar. 26, 2004 - The Houston Rockets have activated guard Mike Wilks from the injured list, general manager Carroll Dawson announced today. In a related move, the Rockets placed guard/forward Adrian Griffin on the injured list with right knee chrondomalachia.

Wilks, who has resided on the injured list with right foot plantar fasciitis since Feb. 4, has averaged 1.3 points and 0.7 assist in 18 games with the Rockets this season. The 5-11, 180-pound guard scored a season-high five points at Detroit on Jan. 7 and at Phoenix on Feb. 2.

    Griffin
Griffin is averaging 0.6 point with 1.0 rebound in 19 games (one start) this season. The 6-5, 230-pound guard/forward scored a season-high three points vs. Phoenix on Mar. 15. Following offseason surgery on his right knee, he opened the year on the injured list from Oct. 27-Feb. 4.

The Rockets roster now stands at 12 active players.

Sounds like JVG is happy with Boki's game, and will give him the backup minutes at the 3.

Yup, that's what it looks like. It was a HUGE victory for Nachbar that he got minutes at the SF spot over Griffin. And not only minutes, but minutes that were dictated by DEFENSIVE play. The fact that Nachbar was playing in overtime over Griffin was huge. That says something. Nachbar was playing horribly offensively but still stayed in the game because of his defense.

Hopefully this is a good first step for Nachbar. He HAS to take advantage of this opportunity!

His defensive fiasco on the 3 point play against Phoenix finished him.

This is good ... I would love to see Wilks get some more time at the PG spot. As good of a passer as Mark Jackson is, he is just too slow and he is a non-threat on the offensive end.

As long as I don't ever see Mark Jackson, Clarence Weatherspoon, and Charles Oakley on the floor at the same time in the 4th quarter of an important game(like happened in the Portland game) I will be happy.

He messed up two times defensively in that game. One is the 3 pointer at the end of regulation as you pointed out. He also messed up at the end of OT where he picked off Mobley and let Johnson run free to shoot the winning shot.

In fact, when I saw Boki, instead of Griffin, in the game during crunch time last game, I sort of thought maybe JVG lost confidence in Griffin after the Phoenix game.

Griffin is supposed to be the defensive specialist. If you mess up your D two times that cost the team a game, you'd be benched.

Is it possible that Griffin has a legitimate injury and it has nothing at all to do with Van Gundy's confidence in him or Nachbar or Wilks or Jackson?

    Pleeease.

You act like chrondomalachia is even a real word. Fact of the matter remains that Boki played when it mattered during the last game, and the very next game, AG goes on the IL with a weird injury. Does he need to spell it out? If there are any minutes at the 2, he'll give them to Boki and Pike rather than Nachbar.

IMO, Nachbar, Pike and AG were fighting for a playoff roster spot. Boki is one step closer. Now if he can only beat Pike out.
