Those are not players Kahn would pursue...

Now Asik, DMo, and Parsons fit the profile..

We finally have a franchise player in Harden and the team is neck deep in a fight for the playoffs. Lets think for a second.

I highly doubt we just traded our entire PF rotation for a huge project like Thomas Robinson(who currently is still a net negative on the court) with the intention of letting him develop. The guy barely has any NBA basketball skills, and may take 3 years to even develop into a rotational player. We are NOT going through that in Harden's prime.

Trob is a trade chip. And a great one(think TOR pick) judging by CF's drooling over his potential.(plenty of GMs think the same way so don't feel bad)

Remember how PPat was supposedly 6th on the Rockets draft board a few years back? I wonder where TRob was on their board last year.

...right now he is the new Houston Rocket.

Kemp never had a good work ethic which is why he did NOT age gracefully.

    Morey's formula:

Low Ceiling player + playing time + 3 point shot = seviceable PF -> trade for
underutilized high ceiling player in development.

Opening up a roster spot for Rip (+pick) I'm hoping.

After reading that the Maloofs are basically motivated by the cash in the trade, I feel kinda bad for taking advantage of the Kings like this. The Maloofs will soon be gone and the Seattle Kings will have a devestated (more so) roster.

If you've seen him play you'll know why its highly unlikely he'll help the rockets any time soon. That being said I hope for the best.

Given how the team just pulled the plug on the Marcus Morris project, you'll forgive me if I take this prediction with a grain of salt.

No, Asik and Lin need to be moved to fit in two incoming max contracts.

I certainly agree that the Rockets are among the best rebounding teams in the NBA. But if you look deeper, they're 3rd in defensive rebounds and 19th in offensive rebounds. And Robinson's 12% OReb is basically Asik level stuff. So having TRob will give the Rockets more 2nd chance opportunities. Certainly not enough to offset his atrocious lack of scoring ability, but certainly allows for the team's overall offensive growth.

That is, assuming the Rockets are keeping him.

I highly doubt your question to evaluate NBA talent if you think "the guy barely has any NBA basketball skills". Either your response was completely over dramatic or you are possibly the worst judge of basketball talent I have ever seen on this board....

    Rip's contract is partially unguaranteed.

It comes full circle. The Kings blocked a Rockets deal by taking Robinson in the Draft. The Rockets end up with Harden, Robinson and possibly Howard via free agency.
