Stone needs to pivot from any trades with Suns. Ishbia would rather go down with ship than give up his stars to Rockets. He's said this often + Tilman needs to believe him.

I agree. Ishbia’s all-in strat does not include retreating for his picks back. And Booker actually wants to be there. The Suns are unlikely to move him even if that’s the best thing for them to do. KD will go to the highest bidder on his short list. Not sure how they think they’ll recoup enough from trading KD and the two future late 1st rounders they still have to put a contending team around Booker, but they are gonna keep digging their hole. Our best bet is to trade the Suns picks to another team or actually draft with them when they inevitably become high lotto picks.

of course they could get lucky and find a way to scratch out a few mediocre seasons. The 2029 Dallas swap could end up being better than that Pheonix swap…but they are certainly both looking good at this point ;)

I don't think it's likely that the Suns will catch those three teams. I'm still rooting against them.

More concerning is Dallas. With Kyrie out. they are sinking fast. very possibly going below Phoenix. But Phoenix is also looking at Portland in the rearview mirror, only 1 game below them.

They would never leak that they really want their picks back, even if they really wanted their picks back.

The play for getting the Suns picks was that they would really suck in 27/29. That still seems likely. I honestly haven't seen anything this year that tells me the rockets should be in a hurry to use all their picks. There's been improvement but nothing that says we're one step away from a championship.

As much of a disaster this Suns season is, you have to respect the amount of effort KD is putting in as a 10th seed. He could have just quit and said trade me, ill save my body for another team, but he played 46 minutes tonight. He has been playing over 40 minutes for several games, and may end up in the top 2-3 in minutes played for the season. He has done this every single game he has played.
