I am not disputing that but I don't get the reason for complaint. He is spending money it's not hurting the fan experience or the team so what's the harm ?

it just doesn't add up, to have the cheapest coaching staff in the league for instance, and then burn cash on such a transaction

He was the youngest player in the NBA when he was drafted a couple years ago. He’s still not even old enough to buy a beer. He could be a great fit with the young guys on this team if he ever develops in the G League. There’s basically no down side to this move.

    Very true

His G-League stats were pretty good in his rookie season ( didn't play last year) - there is talent there, this is the kind of move you make to see what a kid has. If nothing, move on - no harm done. If he can be developed into an "end of rotation" player - bonus!
Oh, and we got paid a pick to have a look at him?

@BimaThug what happens if we sign Doumbouya back again? Say he plays well for the Vipers, and we have a roster spot, and decide to give him a minimum deal. Does that offset the amount owing due to him being waived? (ie, are we able to basically sign him for free again at any time?)

I'm not so sure he'll clear waivers as he's incredibly talented and fits into the positionless NBA. I really don't like the idea of letting him go. We have Wall, Exum and DJ Augustin basically chilling on the roster as future salary matching guys. We are going to end up losing people who may end up being productive players. Hopefully Stone can convince him (if he clears) and Brooks to sign 2 way deals as the roster clears out during the season.

Would have kept him over Lamb.

    Would have kept Khyri too.

Had to waive Khyri to make space I believe.

Lamb being on a 2-way means he wouldn't get the job done for clearing a roster spot IIRC.
