I've never seen him play, but his rebounding numbers do seem a bit low. That said from the highlight video, he reminds me of Okur, actually.
Don't expect him to get many rebounds and he's not a shot blocker. Limited hops and not explosive but he has skills on the offensive end. I think he'll help the Rox and allow them to play more up tempo.
Nice cheap pick up...and Adelman is slowly building his type of team....one that is full of people who can make good BBall plays by back cutting, setting screens and moving without the ball. The type of bball, I adore !! HOORAY !! DD
Not much difference between him and other Euros like Mark Gasol and Mehmet so this is a real good pickup. I think he has a chance to actually be better than Mark Gasol and Mark Gasol is pretty good for a starting center.
I forgot Sean Marks can shoot 3 pointers and SCORE without Chris Paul. All of his points are alley-oops or drive by dropoffs in the paint from cp3.
We'll probably have to use half the MLE on him. But it is a good deal when all it cost you is money and you get a player who can contribute. I think Morey has decided to make a run with this team playing hard every night should keep us in the hunt until Tmac returns and actually expect Tmac to do whatever it takes to be a team player. If he doesn't he could easily go the way of Marbury and Iverson.
Team is going to look boring on papers, but should be very competitive. Lacks star power until McGrady and Yao get back from Injuries. Anderson; Hayes; Dorsey; (Yao out of season) Scola; Landry; Cook Battier; Budinger; White Ariza; Taylor; (McGrady out for 1/2 season) Brooks; Lowry; Barry Uhmmm, that's 1 too many players. I guess someone will need to be traded or released. But I hope they sign Anderson soon.
I do think that Rick found his Brad Miller he was looking for. I'm glad because I didn't like Yao trying to become Brad. Seriously, I think this will work out well.
It's fun for lotto season. How are they going to perform during playoffs? These teams always seem to flame out in the half court.
He looks like a pretty good player offensively but you never know how that will translate. Is he any good defensively?...and his rebounding doesn't look impressive. I'm guessing he won't be the starter, more of a 4th or 5th big man. If his defense and rebounding is a problem, it will probably be hard for him to get minutes over Scola, Landry, or Hayes. For anyone who has watched him play, what are the best case scenarios? Charlie V? Can he pass well enough to have a Brad Miller type impact?
I don't know how much money will be left after paying Andersen, but if Wafer is willing to work hard on both ends, play within the system and come for the remaining part of the MLE(unlikely unless he doesn't get a good offer),DM should re-sign him.
