Jaden Springer - 6'4 6'8 wingspan 205 (measurements almost exactly like Jalen Green's just sturdier)

 

You play that lineup and you're not going to give up 46 points in the 4th quarter again.

 

Lowry would tell you himself that he had a hot temper and a bad attitude earlier in his career. He has talked about it many times in interviews. Age and having a family helped him be a better teammate. Unfortunately that happened after he left Houston.

My only problem with this move is why not KJ? 76ers gave Pistons a pair of 2nd rounders to take on KJ's contract.

 

Hmm in these highlights looks better than I though he would. I’m sure Ime will find a way to use his talents. Don’t mind this trade at all.

 

Let's wait and see - entirely possible that they wanted the extra $4m breathing room from Springer not KJ (total about $6.6 under tax) to make another move?

Or maybe Detroit upped the price on eating salary right after we took Springer on?
Or maybe Morey wanted something back initially for KJ, and finally caved in and threw him at Detroit when he got wind he was running out of options?

But I agree, at face value the two 2nds from the KJ deal is better.

Rockets should flip Springer + 2 SRP to Pelicans for Javonte Green. Javonte is being eyed by both Celts + Mavs after buyout. But Ime will not play a newb like Springer but he would play a vet of similar size (6'4 vs 6'5) as Javonte can switch 1-5 due to his explosive verticality and 7'0 wingspan, better rebounder + stocks. Javonte also shooting 36% 3P.

Javonte also top 10 DFG% at rim for non-big.

Houston doesn’t have any trade exceptions available, but they can use a portion of their mid-level exception to take on Springer’s salary without sending out a player for matching purposes.
